Bill Wood has been in the building trade for over 20 years. His start in construction
was building new homes, but he discovered that his skills in remodeling and building
additions were in higher demand. Bill has a unique ability to make the addition (or
remodel) blend with the original structure and look like it belonged there. His strong
work ethic, honesty, and dependability caused many customers to return to him when they
needed another project done.
Bill has taken this knowledge and experience into the woodworking field. He has
shifted focus to building furniture, built-ins, kitchen cabinets, entertainment centers,
stair systems and other woodworking projects. Also, his commercial counters have been
in much demand--both laminated (formica covered) and other types such as wood or
ceramic tile.
What makes Bill excel as a designer is his ability to listen to the ideas and needs of
his customer and then develop a piece that works for the client. He can accommodate the
structural needs of a job and yet make the design appealing to the eye. Bill believes in
doing the job right the first time and strives to do that on each and every job. He works
hard to give each client the best he can do. Bill works alone or with a helper and
handmade is the rule. He does not approach his work in a "cookie cutter" method. Each
item is unique. His artful approach and careful layout ensure that the customer will get
a piece of which they can be proud. Customers also enjoy knowing that no one else will
have anything quite like it.
Bill's craftsmanship is featured in the new retail outlet at High Brother's Lumber on
highway 5 just South of Camdenton, Missouri. He made all of the laminate counters in the
store and built much of the Design Center inside the store. Here customers can see some
of his woodworking ability as well his artistic and creative touches.
Stair systems are another thing that Bill enjoys building. He can assemble the stairs
from pre-manufactured pieces or he can design and build the whole thing from "scratch"
to fit the situation. Either way, it will be a quality job.
