LT Tozzi and the 21st Century Infantry

Like we used to say at Bronx Science:

"It's not hell, but you can see it from here."

Taken during MOUT (Military Operation, Urban Terrain) in FT Jackson, SC.

-

Taken during weapons training in FT Jackson, SC.

-

Getting on the flight for Kuwait.

-

C130 flight from Kuwait to Baghdad.

-

The next three were taken at Camp Victory, just outside Baghdad.

-

Taken at the Foward Operating Base in Rawah, Iraq.

(The picture at the top of the page was taken at this same location.)

-

Driving in a long haul convoy to the Jordan border.

-

Somewhere near the Jordan border, Iraq side.

-

After a few months on the ground I was promoted to the rank of LT. The ceremony was held by the then commanding officer of the 1-133 IN. It was the first, and probably last, time he ever promoted a Naval officer, much less in the field.
