| **The scene opens where we left The Nitemare. He is waiting for the Concierge at the Hotel Dolphin on 61st street in Manhatten to bring him the key to his room. The man approaches, key in hand.**
Concierge: Mr. Osbourne, are you positive that you want to stay in room 1408? NRO: Is Jennifer Adams a whore? Concierge: Well, I wouldnt know who that is sir, but if that is a yes, I have to askwhy? NRO: Mainly because I thought the book was fantastic and haunted or not, I think your hotel is beautiful. I have a big match this weekend in Rochester and I just need to get a little R&R before the match. Its been a long week. Concierge: Exactly my point sir. Are you certain that 1408 will afford you the tranquility and serenity you desire? NRO: ListenI havent had serenity or tranquility in many years. My son was just horribly disfigured at the hands of a madman and I have to tackle a seven foot five behemoth twice in the next three weeksthis after just facing him three weeks ago. You think a haunted hotel room is going to phase me? Concierge: Very well. Tyler, can you take Mr. Osbournes things up 1408? **The bell hop grabs Osbournes suitcase and leads the way. They board the elevator and the man touches 14 and the car begins to rise. The doors opena nd Osbourne follows the man. As they near the door to 1408 the bell hop comes to a halt, as if an invisible barrier is blocking his progress. He sets the bag down and looks at Osbourne.** Bell Hop: I apologize sir, but we dont get any closer to 1408. If there is nothing else you need? NRO: Oh..yes, yes, of course. **Osbourne tucks a fifty dollar bill in the mans breast pocket and he turns on his heel and marches back the way he came. Osbourne slides the keycard in the door and the indicator light next to the handle goes from red to green and he enters the room. At first glance it looks no different than any other room in the hotel. He drops his bag in the arm chair and collapses into the bed. A few moments pass and he is startled out of his nap by the sounds of a sharp scratching coming from outside the 14th floor window. He stands and walks to it. As he peers out he sees nothing. He turns away and draws the curtains shut and sits on the edge of the bed. He flips on his digital uplink to PWN.com on his laptop and cuts his next promo for Showdown.** NRO: The out cry of support for Bobby has really made me stop and take a minute to reflect on my own career. The words of Magnus Thunder have not gone unheard. Hes right. I cannot continue to live my life the way I have and NOT expect bad things to happen. Maniac may have been responsible for what happened to my son, but I blame myself as much as anyone else. He was in this business because of me. He was in the CWF because of me. Maniac attacked him because of me. And Maniac will pay dearly for what he has donebecause of me. Nownow you will pay and pay dearly. First things firsta certain seven foot five monster that I have to face this week. Magnus, Magnus, Magnus. What makes you think you can get the job done this time? What is so different about this match than our match at Scars N Stripes? I mean, aside from me being more focused than I ever have been before in my career? Why you would even show up for this contest is beyond me. You have solidified your title shot at Global Warning. Why take the chance of me further narrowing your advantages over me? Personally, I wouldnt even bother to show up this weekend. Whats the best that can happen? You get beat up but win a meaningless match? You keep saying all of these wonderfully dramatic things about justice and righteousness. You keep thumping your chest and holding steadfast to your holier than thou persona. I aint buying it. The fans aint buying it. You want to take up the mantel of being the protector of the innocent? Dont sing it. Bring it. You know I will. **The scene fades out as Osbourne lies back down on the bed in room 1408** |
