The "Hot" DOG
May 17, 2009
Lake Kissimmee State Park East of Lake Wales
Well, our group is growing and when we had our "End of Season" (we thought) DOG, everyone wanted one more before summer.  So we scheduled the "Hot" DOG, referring to the normal Florida temperatures in May, rather than the "food item".

We gathered at Lake Kissimmee State park on a warm, breezy day with folks trickling in from 12:00 on to about 2:00PM - seemed a lot was happening that day.  We were fortunate to get the larger pavillion for our gathering so we were in the shade and had lots of tables available.

We determined to have a "tropical" theme since we don't usually have DOGs in the heat of May.  Everyone seemed to enjoy the theme and prepared all kinds of wonderful "tropical" delicacies to share.

Debbie fixes her Kahlua Cake with Gavin assisting.
Richard with his great boneless ribs
Stew fixing his Tropical Chicken
Dave with his Caribbean Jerk Chicken Sandy and Norm in their "Cooking Center"
Dylan prepping his Curried Tropical Fruit - which was a hit!
Barry showing off his huge pork roast
Norm and Sandy, in tropical spirit, preparing stuffed shells
Sally, Larry and Dylan - all sharing one Dutch oven table
Gavin prepared his first Dutch oven dish - a tropical fruit cobbler.  It was very popular with everyone!
