THE MOST HATED BAND IN CALIFORNIA
THE CRACKHEDZ
PROFILE :
The Crackhedz were a bunch of urban waste that coagulated and hardened into a musical outfit from the strange film of smog, nicotine, pot resin, blood, piss and hate. This occured sometime in the late '90's. The line-up as of the time of their total destruction was as follows :
(Dangerous) Dan Badalskie : Lead Vocals and Bass
B.G. Johnson : Guitar and Backing Vocals
Dr. Timothy Raldo : Drums, Percussion, Lead and Backing Vocals as well as the recording (or should I say excretion) of their demo tape, "We Are Rock and Roll," in 2000.
The Crackhedz played many shows around the San Diego area at such venues as the Xanth in North Park (Banned), the Empire Club Halloween Show (Same Building before it was the Xanth, also banned), the Infamous Pine Valley Kegger with Explicit, and Hick 454, Tumbleweed Terrace Halloween Party also with Explicit, The Epicenter in Mira Mesa, and The Playhouse on Euclid and El Cajon Blvd. A previous lineup to that had Dr. Raldo on Guitar and lead vocals, Mr. Johnson on Bass, and Jarod Sux on Drums. Jarod was in a band prior to that called the Goons (of course, this is already a band, too bad so sad, the Goons only lasted a couple months), which featured Sean McClannahan on lead vocals and guitar, and Dangerous Dan on Bass and vocals. That was around the same time Spek was still together, which included Russell* on guitar, Scott* on guitar and vocals, Mr. Johnson on Bass, and Dr. Raldo on Drums. They played a show at the Alpine VFW with the Goons, Rebel Rebel, Coup de Tat, New American Mob, and the Dixiecrats. Spek also played a show at some Italian Restaraunt for someone's birthday party. Soon enough, Spek broke up under massive amounts of pressure from various major labels and MTV. The Goons found out that their name was already taken and decided they should call it quits. The remaining key members wandered the streets like vacant-minded nomads, consuming all the drugs and sex they happened upon. The result was the Crackhedz, a mutant incestuous collaboration which could only hope to portray the vileness that is El Cajon. The lifespan of the Crackhedz was clinically described as "the amount of time it takes for a loogie to drip off of the ceiling in the locker room in P.E. in Junior High." That is probably why they are not still together.
UPDATE - 4/2004 :
After the departure of Dr. Timothy Raldo, the remaining Crackhedz happened upon a new drummer that was good enough to fill the huge void that Raldo left. He can even perform on lots of drugs and alcohol and his antics are said to rival those of Raldo. No one knows exactly what his name is, but it has been said to be something to the effect of Johnny Mysterioso. They reunited to open for Tim Raldo's band, the Filthy Fuks, in February of this year (2004), at the famed and glamorous Joe & Andy's Hole in the Wall. They played a 4 song set, featuring I Wanna Be Ron Jeremy, Master Race, 18 With A Shotgun, and You Don't Like Me, before Mr. Mysterioso trashed the drums in a blind rage, immortalizing his debut. There are rumors that the Crackhedz will play again, although it is also rumored that won't happen until "Hell freezes over."
