WEEK 01, DAY 002 |
|
|
Objective: |
Assign seating. Chapter 1-1 Arithmetic
Computations ( Order of Operations ) and Introduction to Variables: - Do our first “Do Now” problem and
get that daily procedure rolling. The “Do-Now” problems (2)
consists of one computational problem with signed numbers and the other is a
simple algebraic equation which is to be solved. - Then review numeric computations
and order of operations. |
|
Concepts: |
Do-Now problems: #1: Simplify 2(n) – 1 where n =
-3; is to assess if students can handle signed numbers. #2: Solve 2y + 3 = 8; is to assess if students
can solve a simple algebraic equation and to see how they represent the final
solution in decimal, mixed number, or improper fraction. - Classwork/Homework: Is to get in some practice at simplifying
numeric expressions. Review of order
of operations and signed numbers. |

WEEK 01, DAY 003 |
|
|
Objective: |
Continue establishing daily classroom procedures: { 1.) Do-Now problem, 2.) Homework Review, 3.) Lesson, 4.) Classroom Activity, 5.) Follow-up Lesson / Closure, 6.) Final Classroom Activity to be completed for homework, 7.) Stay in seat until dismissal bell, push chairs under the desks, then place Do-Now-Sheet in appropriate plastic bin on the way out of the classroom. } - Chapter 1-2 Grouping Symbols – Numeric Order of Operations |
|
Concepts: |
Continue establishing classroom procedures and then continue with classwork that reviews order of operations |
|
Warm-up: |
#1: Simplify ( 8 + ( -2 ) ) / 3; #2: Simplify 3y ( xy – z ) when x = 2, y = 3, z = 1 |
