| HISTORY OF CAPITAL PRO WRESTLING | ||||
| In early August 2002, a few wrestlers from another federation (Demolition Wrestling Xtreme in Broadalbin, NY) were looking to start another fed to get themselves more wrestling bookings, oppertunities and variety. Those wrestlers, called the founding fathers of CPW were Retro, Jay Danger, Fire Shack, Wacko, Kid Kamikaze, Carnage the Clown, Stryder and Biohazard. They called it "Clifton Park Wrestling" for where it was located at the time. The 1st ever CPW show took place on August 21st, 2002 in a basement which would one day be known as the CPW Arena. The card was very simple, three matches, in order: Triple B (now known as Biohazard) vs Carnage the Clown- Carnage the Clown won the 1st ever CPW match after a clown Splash; Kid Kamikaze vs Fire Shack- In a victory that today would be called an upset, Kid Kamikaze defeated the future CPW Champion Fire Shack with a senton bomb; and for the very 1st CPW Main Event Jay Danger wrestled and defeated the man known as Retro winning the CPW Championship in the process. The referee for these matches? None other then Wacko himself. CPW returned the next month with what was called a "mini-show" with only two matches on the card. That night Biohazard was brought in by Wacko (who was also named new CPW commissioner minutes before) defeated a rookie upstart known as Stryder. Jay Danger then went on to defeat the very own CPW commissioner Wacko, in a friendly competition match. All the other wrestlers were absent that night. The next show would come later that month as Fire Shack defeated the debuting Chaos the Clown, who was known for his crazy antics with tag team partner Carnage the Clown in the very entertaining DWX. Speaking of Carnage the Clown, he was defeated by Biohazard after a brutal match which would cement Biohazard in the record books as a top contender. The main event was a singapore Cane match as Jay Danger defeated Retro in a bloody match. Both when were busted open and staggering but Danger somehow managed to hit the Dangerkick on Retro for the 1-2-3 retaining his CPW Championship. Early October marked the 4th ever CPW show. Jay Danger once again successfully defeated his CPW Championship in a 3-way match vs Wacko and Stryder. The debut of a new clown, Crazy, left viewes both laughing and wondering how many more clowns would arrive. "Halloween From Hell", the 1st ever CPW "PPV" or "big-time show with many breathetaking matches" was set just a few days before Halloween. To get in that Halloween spirit, CPW gave us many Halloween-related matches. Fire Shack got revenge on Kid Kamikaze in a Casket Match, Chaos The Clown won a 3-way "get the clown-face pumpkin match (like a ladder match but insetad of a belt was a pumpkin with a clown face professionally painted on)" against his fellow clown friends Carnage and Crazy. Biohazard defeated Retro in a hardcore match which lasted close to 25 minutes. The main event for that night had foul play written all over it. Jay Danger was defending his CPW Championship against the rookie Stryder with Fire Shack as a special guest referee to call it down the middle, or would he? Danger was setting up Stryder for the Dangerkick when Fire Shack nailed Danger with a HUGE cookie sheet shot to the head allowing Stryder to roll up Danger for thr 1-2-3. This screwjob would set up one of the most remarkable, brutal and amazing fued ever: Jay Danger and Fire Shack. The 1st show of December was supposed to feature the new CPW Champion Stryder... however Stryder bailed on the fed after winning the championship like the crybaby he is and the Championship was declared Vacant. Biohazard defeated Carnage, Retro defeated Chaos the Clown and then the main event approached. Jay Danger faced Fire Shack for the vacant CPW Championship in a Casket Match, the same match type that Fire Shack won last month when he defeated Kid Kamikaze. It turns out Fire Shack is unbeatable in Casket Matches after he tied up Jay Danger with duct tape and closed the casket lid, winning the CPW Championship. There was also a new ref at this show, but this ref never returned again. Retro also defeated Chaos the Clown. Jay Danger would get a rematch later that month but everyones favorite Commissioner, Wacko, became everyones most hated as he nailed Danger with the belt costing him the victory. Also in this show, a new superstar made his debut. Mr. 36, a wrestler and commentator, made his debut by defeating Carnage the Clown. Biohazard continued to display his hate for clowns by defeating Crazy the Clown only to get pied in the face afterwords. Once again it was not a night to be a clown as Retro defeated Chaos the Clown again after his signature Sky High. Jaunary 2003 was the night of debuts. Vulcan made his debut to aid Biohazard in destorying the Clowns for yet another month as Biohazard and Vulcan defeated Chaos and Carnage. Later, Vulcan was defeated in a timely fashion by Mr. 36. Chris Cage also made his debut that show defeating White Ninja, another debuting superstar. Wacko, filled with rage against the two heros of CPW- Jay Danger and Retro, made a match between the two. The winner of that match would face Fire Shack for the CPW Championship the next month. Jay Danger picked up the victory over his good friend and would finally get a chance for revenge. This show also had the debut of a match once used in DWX Wrestling- an Xtreme Rumble. Rules are two men start in the ring, once one is thrown over the top rope then and only then another wrestler enters the ring; an over-the-top-rope gaunlet match. This match would be for the newly appointed Intercontniental Championship. Newcomer Chris Cage won that match last defeating Jay Danger. An alliance was formed that night as Fire Shack, Chris Cage and Vulcan became the minions. Were these two debuting superstars being used by vetrean Fire Shack for assistance to help him retain his title, one may never know. February 2003 marked the 1st ever LIVE CPW show. In the #1 contender match for the Intercontniental Championship, Mr. 36 defeated Biohazard in a undefeated vs undefeated match. Chris Cage defended that same belt in a 2-on-1 over-the-top-rope elimination match as both Carnage and Chaos the Clown were defeated. Vulcan then attacked a poor fan ringside, which is yet one of the most dispiciple moments in CPW history. Not to let anyone get away with hurting his fans, Retro then challenged Vulcan in a table match and DDT'd Vulcan through the table for the victory. As expected, Chris Cage and Vulcan were there backing up Fire Shack as he went into battle with Jay Danger, which was a broken glass match.. Danger defended them off and picked up the victory, becoming a two-time CPW Champion. He recived a standing ovation and the Minions were no more. CPW came back live the next month with yet another debuting wrestler, Tommy Dinardi. Dinardi made quick work of the returning White Ninja after a Pedigree. Retro won a big battle royal, Jay Danger & Retro tag teamed to take on Chaos and Crazy the Clown and defeated them. Mr. 36 won the Intercontniental from Chris Cage with the 36er. Jay Danger then defeated Fire Shack (in yet again another match) in a 3-stages of Hell Match- Regular, Lumberjack, Deathmatch/broken glass. Another fed wrestled an after-show bonus match. That fed was known as the EOW, the match: CJ Scott defeated Freak. April 2003 was a very different show. CPW itself was renamed from Clifton Park Wrestling to Capital Pro Wrestling. The EOW and CPW both had an interpromotional show. This would also be the last CPW show for 11 months (CPW was closed down only to re-open in March 2004). CJ Scott defeated Freak, Scythe and Jeff Kiao, Fire Shack defeated Kid Kamikaze, Vulcan won a 10-man battle royal as well. This also marked the show where Jay Danger had some demons. Feeling that he would be better off siding with the Commissioner, Danger turned to Wacko for assitance and turned towards Tommy Dinardi as a bodyguard. He also hired a manager in Meaghan Liss. These 4 were nkown for this one show as "Hollywood X". Retro, feeling betrayed, asked for a title match against his former-friend Danger. Wacko granted that match... as long as Retro could defeat Tommy Dinardi. Retro dominiated Dinardi and pinned him after a sky high, however, was not able to defeat Jay Danger. Mr. 36 denfended his Intercontneiental Championship against both Fire Shack and Chris Cage. In the main event for th NEW Tag Team Titles, Chaos and Crazy the Clown defeated Retro/Vulcan and Danger/Dinardi to become the 1st ever CPW Tag Team Champions. Capital Pro Wrestling took an 11-month break after the CPW Arena was closed down. March 2004 marked the return of CPW, with a new outdoor arena, some new faces, and plenty of returning stars. Jay Danger won the 2004 Xtreme Rumble, last eliminating Vulcan. This was a pinning match as no ropes were asembled on the ring. A debuting wrestler, Matto, took on Kid Kamikaze for the vacant Intercontniental Championship and came away with the victory. He then defended that title against Vulcan and picked up the victory. Mr. 36 returned, cold, bitter, filled with hatred and layed out in all black gear to take on Chris Cage now sporting long hair. This was the big rematch from last year and we saw Chris Cage put away Mr. 36 ending his undefeated streak. Chris Cage then defeated Jay Danger for the CPW Championship in what is called an upset victory. CPW came back with it's second show of the year on April 24th. This marked the return of several CPW stars. Jay Danger, Retro and Mr. 36 squared off in a 3-way for a title shot at the next show. To do that they all had qualifying matches. Jay Danger, who seems to be back on everyones good side and a big time favorite, defeated Fire Shack, Mr. 36 defeated Vulcan and Retro defeated Kid Kamikaze. Matto also defended his IC title against Obsidian and pinned him to retain the title, until Biohazard came out and leveled him with a crowbar. Jay Danger and Retro defeated Carnage the Clown and Obsidian to win the vacant CPW Tag Team Championships. Also in this show, Vulcan won a big hardcore elimination match for the new hardcore title last eliminating Retro. |
