| Dear Ms Figment, Thank you for your letter. I, myself have thought of the Planeteers often, and I have even used my ring to communicate with them. Unfortunately, I have not been able to reach all of them. I could not contact Linka or Wheeler. I used my power and asked Gaia if she could tell me what happened to them, and she explained that Linka stopped wearing her ring because she was afraid it would fall off and be lost. She told me that Wheeler broke his wrist shortly after he moved to Florida, and he has kept his ring on his key chain ever since. I know you are wondering what has happened to me after Captain Planet went off the air. Gaia invited us to stay on Hope Island until we were able to start lives of our own. I think she sensed that we felt the need to bring our experiences and love for the planet back to our homes and strive to make our parts of the world a better place. It broke my heart to see us going our separate ways, but I also believed Gaia may have been right. I talked to her about bringing everyone together for a Planeteer reunion, but we have not been able to set a date yet. The last time we talked, I asked her to tell Wheeler and Linka to put their rings back on, so I could contact them and get this reunion to come to pass. Since I left Hope Island, I have worked very hard in the effort to save our disappearing rain forests. I returned to my old village and resumed my studies with the shaman, and I also have spent a lot of time traveling and delivering speeches on the importance of saving the rain forests of the world. I have even used the shaman's teachings to illustrate how the many plants we have can prove to keep us happy and healthy, and how many of them are being destroyed before we can discover the miracles they can perform. I will go for now because I promised to meet the shaman early this afternoon. I am glad to have heard from you. Do not lose heart, Ma-Ti |
