Planeteer Letters

Subject: Re: Where Are You Now?

Hello, Ms Figment.

Sorry it has taken me so long to write back to you.  I have been really busy with my courses and working part-time on top of that. I'm afraid this message will be short because I have to leave for work in a couple of minutes.

Right now, I am in the middle of my Master's program and plan to graduate in another year.  I never dreamed graduate school would be as difficult and time consuming as it is.  If my roommate didn't do the cooking every night, I probably would be existing on crackers or nutrition bars.  I've been so involved with my job and school that I haven't had very much time for fun.  I still try to find time to swim or scuba dive, but I'm not doing that as much as I would like.

I have been working for a company that is very active in cleaning up beaches and helping dolphins who are sick or hurt.  My ring sure comes in handy on that job.  When I graduate, I hope to work there full-time as a research scientist specializing in the seas and the animals that live in them.

I really miss the other Planeteers.  I get an occasional letter or email from someone, but we're not corresponding as much as we thought we would when we first went our separate ways.  I have the feeling that Linka has jumped into her studies and projects head-first; Wheeler has been scrambling to support himself and pay his own way through school without taking out any loans; Kwame is hard at work with his farming and tree planting; and Ma-ti is studying with the Shaman when he isn't traveling and giving lectures on the importance of saving the rain forest.

I hate to cut off this message, but I have to go now.
Thank you for writing.

Yours Truly,
Gi
