Layag is the official publication of the CPU Kindergarten Parents-Teachers-Alumni Association (CPU-K PTAA). It has a three-fold purpose:
(1) Information. Basically, Layag acts as an "information center" for CPU-K Parents as it includes the Kindergarten Calendar of Activities, updates, schedules or extracurricular activities, and other pertinent data. If you need to know what is happening at CPU Kindergarten, then Layag is for you.
(2) Formation. Secondly, not only does Layag inform, but it also aims, through its varied and relevant articles, to help parents form true Christian values. Layag is committed to raising our moral standards and strengthening our moral fiber in a world where immorality is in and morality is out. We at Layag believe that we, parents, play a major role in the child's moral development. Strong moral parents will most likely produce children of strong moral character -- children who will withstand the pressures and onslaughts of a society that is fast becoming permissive and perverse.
(3) Education. When our first child came there was no manual that came with him (or her). Parenthood, for many, is a trial and error, hit and miss thing. In this regard, Layag aims to "educate" CPU-K parents in the area of responsible parenthood through the experiences, expertise or errors of other parents. You don't need to learn from your mistakes if you can learn from the mistakes of other people, right?
Layag exists for reasons such as these. Like the sail of a sailboat, Layag empowers parents to reach their intended goals for their children and their children's world.
