The problems can be summed up in two categories:
1) Overt, uncomfortable to watch, forced sexual situations. There is a lot of sexual stuff happening, but it is extremely forced. It's like they are doing it because they can get away with it. It doesn't meld and flow like it does on a show like, say, Firefly.
2) The team is unbelievably inept. Seriously... this is supposed to be an uber secret, above the law, special government group? Gimme a break. By episode three they all should have been killed or at the very least fired. I think you could help this problem by adding two other main characters; a senior Doctor (really, I can't belive Owen as a doctor at all, let alone anyone who should have any kind of important position), and a true computer geek who never leaves the hub.
Apart from these two serious, serious problems, the show does a lot right and can be very exciting and cool. As a Doctor Who spinoff, it's not so good (though they do remind us it is indeed a spinoff at the end of the last episode). As it's own show, it's not too bad. I just wish they'd stop forcing the sex, and get some writers in who can implement the sex into the stories more smoothly.
The finale was so good however, that I think I may just watch season 2.

This season was much, much better than the first. The actors are much more comfortable in their roles, the stories are better, there's a better feel and atmosphere, and the sex is toned down.
