It is hoped that the formal leaning associated with each outcome will occur in three major contexts; the classroom, Church services or other times of worship and meditation, and the involvement by students within the wider community.
2. Story of the Church
Students acquire a basic understand of the genesis of the Christian church, and the issues faced by the early Church as it expanded.
3. Philosophy and Beliefs
Students reflect on how Christian teaching has influenced the way in which the western world lives. This is contrasted with a Christian worldview. The link between a set of religious beliefs and life choices is examined.
4. World Religions
Students require a basic understanding and appreciation of the beliefs and values of other major world religions.
5. Meditation and Prayer
Students develop a capacity for spiritual sensitivity and growth through active participation in Christian meditation and prayer.
6. Ethical decision making and living
Students explore Christian values and ethical decision making in relation to personal and social concerns. They reflect on the meaning of commonly used terms, such as love, morals, rights and justice in order to develop a deeper understanding of how they conduct their lives.
