Well here we are once again, another holiday season, my favorite time of the year, As a child I used to notice that this was the time of the year when the dog stopped biting the mailman, and when there was an unusual good will towards men, Oh yes I fondly remember as a child waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve (That was before I realized what a satanic thing Santa is, He is a tool to take our eyes off of Jesus) and I remember having dinner with Mom and Dad on Thanksgiving and Christmas, Mom would always go all out in decorating the house even putting a nativity scene out (Sometimes even two) It was even more special when I came home from college and one year even brought a friend home from Pakistan. Yes the holidays mean family and family time to me but I am writing this story to all of you out there (and again including myself) to remind us why we have these holidays, Oh yes I would agree that Christmas is for the most part a creation of the Roman Catholic Church (Started by Constantine back in Ancient Rome to appease both the pagans and the Christians) but God can turn it around for his glory, How? This year when we get together let's invite him to the dinner table, let's remember the Holiday season for what it truly is. Thanksgiving is the celebration of the pilgrims coming over to America as we now know it to escape persecution for their faith and have the freedom to serve God as they and he saw fit instead of the way the King of England and his church saw fit. It's not to unlike the way the Israelites left Egypt for the same reason, as you may recall, the Pilgrims joined with the Native Americans (Or Indians if you will) to celebrate their freedom, of course one thing lead to another and we got what we now know as America, and as time passed we found ourselves turning our back on God the same way that the Israelites turned their back on God. It's not to late to turn back to him and what a better time than the Holiday season when we in theory celebrate our freedom to serve him and worship him as well as his birth in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago, This year let it not be in theory let it be for real, and if you are not a Christian then I would invite you to accept his free gift of eternal salvation which he bought for us with his shed blood on the cross. I invite you now to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, just say this prayer and really mean it
"Lord I know that I am a sinner and on my way to Hell if I try to make amends on my own, but you have already made those amends for me and now I want to accept you as my Lord and Savior and invite you in to my life to change it to your glory, Thank You Lord for your free gift and my salvation not only from Hell but from the Hell that Life can bring."
If you said that prayer and meant it then you are now on your way to Heaven not only after you die but here on Earth as well because Jesus has become the center of your life. Now get yourself a King James Bible (A perfect gift for your loved ones too by the way) and read it everyday to get to know Jesus better and pray because Jesus wants to hear from you and talk to you to help you through your life, Happy Holidays and God Bless.
