I must start out this issue with a scam warning! I have received several emails at the address for Mara's Ads requesting "help" in transfering money out of a foreign country! I have deleted the emails without completely reading them. Be very careful, people! There are lots of lowlifes who would cheat you out of your hard earned money!

Welcome to the very 1st issue of Mara's Ads! This will be a weekly ezine that will be sent out on Fridays.

If you would like to contribute an article, please feel free to submit it to me along with an advertisement that you would like run. If I run your article, I will run the ad for 4 issues. If you subscribe, you get a free advertise- ment. Actually, all the advertisements are FREE. I will publish weekly (for now). The ads are first come, first to be published.

I've got a bad case of procrastinitis. Before you panic, it is not contagious. I'm sure that word in not in the dictionary. It means I am always procrastinating!

I live in a state of procrastination! Part of it comes from living in the Rio Grande Valley for 12 years. That particular part of Texas is actually an unofficial country all it's own. It's officially part of the United States, but is really a third country between the US and Mexico. The culture there is very laid back.

"If it doesn't get done today, it will get done tomorrow. If it doesn't get done tomorrow, it wasn't important anyway!" At times, that sums up my attitude. However, that tends to drive other people nuts!

I need to move my computer, but I keep putting it off for one reason or the other. I need to start getting my wardrobe ready for the new school year. I need to... Well, you get the picture.

UPDATE ON VOTING - POPUP ADS:
The VoteNowBoard wasn't working too well. I have changed to a form. If you had trouble trying to vote, please go back and vote now!

Use a calendar program or online calendar to help you keep track of deadlines or reminders.

I use Calendar Creator on my hard drive to help me keep track of personal bills to pay and my work schedule. I enter a reminder 7 days before the bill is due. That gives me plenty of time to write the check and mail it in order to meet the due date.

I use an online calendar like Yahoo! to help me keep track of deadlines or reminders of when I can post advertisements again. Yahoo can be set up to email a listing each day of your calendar plus "to do notes". You can also have a reminder emailed to you for each event on the calendar.

I need to add a little more explanation about last week's tip!

I belong to quite a few safelists and discussion groups that I can post to on a daily or weekly basis. I will be going back to my full time job when school starts. I was trying to think of a way to automate my posting to the lists and make my life easier.

I use Word97 as my work processor, and when I type in what the computer recognizes as an url, it underlines it and colors it blue. After I have saved the document, I can open it at any time I am connected to the internet, and click on the link to get to that particular safelist. It makes it much easier than having to type each url in. I keep a record of my user name and password along with the website address.
