Welcome to Mara's Ads! This ezine is sent out twice a week. Wednesdays and Saturdays.

I wrote this a while back, but I thought you might enjoy.
I'm having withdrawal! My phone is out of order so I can't get on the internet! I keep thinking of all of the things I could or should do - ONLINE!
First, I thought my cat had snacked on the phone line again. I'm in the process of hiding or covering the phone line and electrical cords. I don't know why she likes to chew on them, but it's a real problem! It's dangerous for her and a nuisance for me.
This time, however, the phone outage wasn't Mama's fault. Something went wrong in the lines outside. I live in a rural area about 9 miles from the nearest town. The main office of the phone company is located elsewhere. The repairman is local, but he gets his orders from who knows where!
Hopefully, I'll have service again sometime today. I just keep thinking of all that I need to do - ONLINE! Oh well, I need to just relax. Getting uptight about it will just raise my blood pressure and make me cranky. This is when I need to follow the philosophy of "If it doesn't get done today, it will get done tomorrow. If it doesn't get done tomorrow, it wasn't important anyway!"

If It Had Been A Bug, It Would Have Bit Meon the Nose. It's Not A New Idea, Just Not Talked About Much.
The Internet World changes so quickly that one day you're going great guns on sales and the next thing you know, your sales are down.
What Do People Want? That Is The Question!
That's when I went on a quest to find the answer to that question. To my amazement I found a terrific resource that comes right to my inbox and its free.

After studying the list, I noticed that "small business" was high on the list. This term applied to my website and it was a highly searched for term. Not "home business" nor "business opportunities" which were both listed in my meta tags and on my webpage at the time.
I changed my meta tag and webpage to reflect the keywords "small business". I resubmitted my website to the search engines and directories and in no time at all, I had tripled my website hits.
If you have a website, you need to check out the keywords that apply to your business.
For something that didn't take me long to apply, I have sure benefited from it.
Note: Do not choose keywords that are high on the list that do not apply to your website. Sure, you'll get more hits but you will also make enemies. This would not help you at all.
However, if you've been wondering what you could sell, you could find out and fill the need.
Sadly, sex subjects abound but to my surprise it's not the most sought after. "mp3" is usually #1.
It was also interesting that "small business" fell off of the top listings after the United States was hit by the terrorist. It will be back but you can tell by the keywords that people were deeply concerned and scared.
I pray that fellow Americans are careful but not living in constant fear.
