Let's Talk About Doorway Pages

Many of you are using start or click or hit or whatever exchanges to no avail. If you are using the referral page given to you by your affliate program that may be the reason. Often times your referral page loads too slowly or just plain gets lost in the constant clicking of those wishing to create hits to their own site.

How can you stop it? Doorway pages.

Doorway pages are small pages created for the sole purpose of getting the viewer to click on the page you really want them to see. Of course the obvious question is "Why would someone stop clicking up hits to visit my other web page?" Because the doorway page has only one purpose: create interest.

Your doorway page has to load fast. Nothing but html there! It has to catch the attention of the reader. Nothing but text! It should convey in 5 or 6 lines the benefit of clicking on your link. That's the key!

The doorway page is all about what's in it for the reader. Every word should center around conveying the message to the reader that if they click on that link there is going to be a benefit for them on the other side!

The entire page should be a motivating ad for the link. Even the words you use for the link should be part of the ad! "Click Here Now" "Sign Up Before The Competition Does!" "Don't Be The Last To Join!"

You see how it works. I've known about doorway pages for awhile but never realized their importance until I was trying to get referrals for one of my hit exchanges. I had been using the referral page link and wasn't getting any sign-ups. This had aways worked before. So I decided to analyze it.

I sat in front of my browser with four windows open. (I always use 4 exchanges at once.) I hit the first three and then went to my page on the fourth. It barely loaded in 30 secs! That is death in the hit exchange world! Then I looked at the content. I had to strain to read the page and find the info. And this exchange has probably the best system going!

I wasn't impressed. It was too hard to read. That's when I decided to try the "Doorway Page".

I created a 5 KB page that in essence was a 5 line ad for the hit exchange. I used all the keywords: amazing,new, guaranteed hits,free traffic, 100%, etc.

IT WORKED! And the reason: the doorway page convinced the reader of the benefit to him of clicking through. He/she didn't have to be sold by the referral page. They read the referral page only to reinforce the benefit of signing up and to get the details. The sale had been made in only 5 lines!

That's why you should use doorway pages. Go on and try it!
