Hope everyone's new year is starting off to be a great one! Mine is hectic! I'm trying to pack to move (I know! I keep telling you that but I want you to know just in case the ezine is a little late once or twice!). And, I am having a problem with my back that makes it a little more difficult! LOL!

It seems like everyone at Chruch wants to tell us that we shouldn't be moving and them turn right around and ask "So, when ARE you moving?"

Moving is not my most favorite thing to do in the world, but you couldn't tell it by the number of times I've moved! You would think I have the routine down pat! But, I WILL get packed, even if (like last time!) I'm still packing while boxes are being loaded on the truck!

How Do I Promote My Business Opportunity Without Spending an Arm and a Leg?

There are numerous low-cost ways to promote your home business and/or business opportunity, you just need to be able to do a little leg work. Once you have found a pattern of promotion that works for you, the process will flow much easier.

One of the best ways to get information about your business to the public is through letters. These can either be letters that you would send through the postal service or e-mail letters. Either way, you want to get a good targeted list. You don't want to be sending letters (postal or e-mail) about your new bulk e-mail business opportunity to a group of anti-spammers. Make sure that you spend some time finding a good list from a reliable source to avoid a big mistake such as that!

Another very popular method of low-cost advertising is using the telephone. Call your neighbors, family, and friends and tell them about your business opportunity. This is a great opportunity to help the people that you care about make a little extra money, while helping yourself at the same time. If you belong to an MLM program, you will want to get the phone numbers of everyone in your downline and keep in touch with them over the phone. Personal contact over the phone is more effective than writing back and forth over a computer. When you get this downline member on the phone, pitch them the new opportunity that you just joined and see if they want to join under you. If you have been a good sponsor to them in another program, chances are they will join under you again. All you need to do it ask.

If you are running a business opportunity that can be run from anywhere (such as an online business opportunity), place a sign on your front lawn. People that are passing by can't help but look. Just make sure that you are complying with the zoning ordinances in your area.

Although classified ads usually cost money (at least the good ones do), this is really something any serious marketer should look into doing. If you are promoting an MLM or business opportunity, then the internet is the best place to promote, because of a larger customer base. Try forming or joining some type of ad exchange. You can offer to place someone else's banner on your website, in exchange for them putting a banner on their website that belongs to you.

Don't forget about newsletters and opt-in solo mailings! These are great ways to get your message out there and not get lost in a sea of ads!

Another great way to promote is through the use of business cards. This option is often overlooked. I can't tell you the amount of times I've been asked what I do for a living. Once I tell them a little bit about my field, they can't wait to learn more. I mean, who wouldn't? Working at home and being in the top 1% income level in America! So, I just whip out my business card and *BAM* an instant lead that is very interested.

As you can see, there are many ways to promote your business for minimal cost. You need to explore your options and prepare an advertising budget. Make sure to stay within your means and don't over extend yourself. If you start small, you will see just how fast you can move up in this industry. There is a lot of potential here, you just need to know how to capitalize on it.

Having been through several computers in the last 6 years, both for personal and business use, I was somewhat amazed at something I found following a recent purchase of 3 new laptops.

Before, and after, installing any new software, one should always "defrag" the system, and it is generally recommended that this be done in "safe mode." Right out of the box you wouldn't think about this, but boy was I surprised. My brand new system was about 10% fragmented on its first boot-up.

That little task completed, and knowing that a new security patch had recently been issued for Windows XP, I went to the Microsoft site. After clicking on "upgrades" and letting my system analyze itself, I found that I was in for a long night. My "critical updates" package was about 6 months behind. Unfortunately they had to be done individually, beginning with the oldest update available; and the system had to be re-booted after each small download.

Now, 2 hours into my brand new system, I also decided to check on the pre-installed virus software. This, too, was about 6 months behind in its updates.

While all this sounds very time consuming, I think it is important to pass along the fact that my computer is as up to date as possible, is safe from all those little worms and trojans currently floating around, and is operating at optimum efficiency. Heck, it even makes my morning coffee for me.

The bottom line here is that we tend to forget that the new system we purchased was probably put together several months ago by the computer elves. None of the directions that come with the system recommend checking for system updates before blasting off into cyberspace.

I highly recommend that these functions be performed on all systems on a regular basis, even "right out of the box."
