Solid Snake - Rise of the Kraken
There is a new kind of Nuclear Launching device out there. It's primary abilties are lying in wait underwater and launching it anywhere in a 1000 mile radius from its set point. The worst feature is that it is still active at below sea level, making it untraceable and impossible to disarm by electronical means. They call it the Kraken Device.
The problem is that it isn't complete yet. It is still being built by the US as a secret weapon. Suddenly, terrorists attacked the base and took over all 30 scientists and 300 engineers. They were building the base vertical, making the main HQ of the base 8,000 leagues underwater.
-The entire base composes of 5 compounds. Each compound is seperated by 3 narrow shafts connecting them to one another. 2 shafts are for material movements, and 1 shaft for emergencies. Each compound is about as little as 10 to as much as 50 miles at a vertical distance from each other, making an attack on one impossible to spread to the other very quickly.
COMPOUND NAME LOCATION COMPOUND TYPE
Level 1 - Upper Area - Above Land - Oil Rig Beach Compound (Gurrella)
Level 2 - Mid-section 1 - Underwater/Molted into Rock - Military Training Facility (Boom)
Level 3 - Mid-section 2 - Underwater/Built under a Mountain - Energy Output System (Shock)
Level 4 - Lower Area - Underwater/Barely above Sealevel - Weapons Facility (Phantom)
Level 5 - Science Facility - Directy on Sealevel - Science and Research Facility (Beaker)
Snake is sent in to take out the lead terrorist. FOXHOUND sent another agent before Snake to assure that Dr. Lombardi didn't give out the weapons location, who was later reported as MIA. The problem is that FOXHOUND knew that the base is non-active, meaning the nuclear weapons won't even work yet. The base was still being worked on. Plus, the US wanted the base back under their control. The terrorists were simply trying to destroy the base before it can be used as a weapon.
Later on, the hacker girl broadcast live video of the base and its location after learning that Dr. Lombardi, her foster father, was killed by FOXHOUND, not the terrorists. The UN immediately learns of it, as the secret weapon violates UN policy. The US gives the go for the base's destruction before UN inspectors can check it out. All the scientists are to be killed upon arrival above sea level. The hacker girl is arrested, and Snake must escape from the base when he is so far below sea level.
CHARACTERS
Boom
- Set with rage, anger, and hatred.-Boom is crazy. His actions in war set a trigger in his mind to cause him to act insane. One of the things he talked about was when the opposition in the war were chopping the heads of his friends when he was taken prisoner after their leader admitted defeat. He also talked about how the civilians were the ones who were getting hurt, as they were fighting anywhere on the field, including the homes of people. Not only that, soldiers from both sides defiled the civilians without any sort of protection.
Jungle Gurrella - Armed with a Sub, a few hi-tech weaponry, and a combat Knife. Jungle Gurrella is working as a double agent against Phantom.
-Gurrella was a former FOXHOUND as well. He was MIA at a mission near South Africa. The Government refused to send any more agents to assist the South Africa Operation and abandoned all funding to it. Gurrella was later released back to the US, where he spits on FOXHOUND for not attempting a rescue mission. He joined a seperate anti-terrorist organization regarded under pure secrecy that works outside the UN, and works as a double agent against Phantom Twin.
-During Snake's fight against Shock Beetle, Shock takes out the lights. Jungle Gurrella stabs Shock a few times in the dark, when Snake starts doing combos on Gurrella in the dark. Gurrella runs out before the lights come on, managing to successfully kill Shock. Gurrella later admits to stabbing Shock because of his spite against FOXHOUND.
-Snake enters a room, Gurrella's room. There, he finds a laptop computer with open access conversations. Pills are on the ground, opened and spilt onto the floor. Gurrella's pictures of his family are turned down. Bed is messy.
-Gurrella's Logs on his computer are with Phantom. Gurrella asks about Eliza, Phantom's twin sister. Phantom says she is recuperating under the static machine, keeping her heartbeat up. Gurrella says that the pills aren't working. He says that all of the underwater operations are really hurting his head. Gurrella later dies from head injury, which Phantom uses his body to fight.
-Gurrella's daughter is the hacker girl that works for Campbell. She was given to adoption by Dr. Lombardi, Gurrella's close friend. Apparently, Phantom kills Gurrella after Phantom learned that Gurrella was trying to take out the operation from the inside.
INTRO -
Phantom Twin - A twin who fights with these scissors. He does a replicate technique, which only calls out his twin sister to fight, to make it seem as if there are two of him.
-He says he was trained as a Psychic Hunter back during the 70s area. Nuclear weapons were building, but the lengthscountries went to find that new 'Ultimate weapon' was the current rave. Psychic implant treatment always existed. Phantom was only 9 when they attempted to use him as a weapon. They cloned Phantom and used a fast developing machine to make this clone become Phantom's current age. For 2 months, Phantom had a sister, until the cloning procedure took its course and left his sister's mind completely destroyed. Unable to comprehend of his sister's death, he devoted 80% of his psychic powers to make his sister live again. Now, he moves her as a puppet, ulitizing his psychic powers to function as his sister's heart; keeping it from beating, pushing air in and out of her lungs, even blinking her eyes for her. He was too selfish to let her die peacefully. Now that he is dying,
-The original 3 test tube babies, each born from Austria and sent to live as spies in the various nations. Each baby was implanted with psychic and telepathic DNA strands. The three were Phantom Twin, Shock Beetle, and Mind Beaker. Phantom Twin went to England, Shock Beetle went to the US, and Mind Beaker went to France. Well, Austria's spy program failed within 4 years of the operation, and the Test tube psychics, project "Olympus", was terminated. The children weren't.
-Phantom Twin was the only one discovered before Olympus was leaked out. The British Government spent billions to see how Phantom Twin ticked, even to a point of cloning him. Phantom Twin lived in a harsh laboratory environment until he accepted to work for the Government.
-Shock Beetle never knew of her experiment after Olympus was broken loose. The US Government hoped to keep it that way, hoping to train Shock Beetle as a super-soldier during the Cold War. Beetle was raised by various individuals, but the one that had the most impact on her life was Big Boss. She joined, and left FOXHOUND because of him.
-Mind Beaker was never known about. Only 2 names were revealed after project Olympus was released. Mind Beaker emerged during the 1990's during the Gulf war, when he was sent along with other Canadian troops as America's Allies. He became a national hero after a few missions with Gray Fox, who instantly saw potential in this recruit. Mind Beaker remained with FOXHOUND until this latest operation. Phantom Twin corrupted his mind, causing him to turn his back on FOXHOUND.
Shock Beetle - Hops around like spiderman, throwing spider grenades that follow you and has a shock glove and bolt swings.
-This lovely seducing lady. When you first meet her, she hopes from the wall she was stuck on to the ground. She then point her hand at Snake. Lightning energizes from her glove, and suddenly, Snake's pistol is electricuted, causing him to drop it.
BATTLE
-Shock fights Snake in a room filled with metal crates, and 2 closet-sized areas sticking out on the left and right center of the walls.
-Shock jumps on top of the crates, and starts leaping from one crate to another. Snake, who would stand inbetween the two crates that Shock would jump across, would aim his FAMAS at her as she jumped. He would just aim it at her, almost as if he expected her to leap.
-It gets eerily quiet, as Snake quietly walks from one crate to another. All of a sudden, Shock charges at him with double claws out, leaps at him, and slices him in the chest, all with electrical bolts ripping through the air. Snake turns around and starts spraying his FAMAS. It runs out of bullets, so Snake switches to his SOCOM.
-Shock sends Spider-Mines after Snake, who was hiding in the left closet area. Luckily, Snake stuck a C-4 to the wall and set it to explode as the Spider-Mines come closer. The C-4 explosion causes the Spider-mines to explode. Snake dramatically jumps through the explosion and starts firing his SOCOM at Shock. She gets hit a few times and leaps out of the way.
-Shock constantly runs through the hallways, avoiding Snake's SOCOM pistol attacks. Snake would move as well, shooting once or twice whenever he sees her. Snake had to reload, when suddenly, Shock's claws stab Snake in the chest. Snake kicked her off of him, reloaded his weapon, and started firing. Shock's instant reflexes allowed her to backflip away from him.
-Snake hides behind a corner, when Shock grabs Snake's arm from the top of the crate. She electricutes him and drops him to the ground. Shock then leaps across from him, and walks towards him. Suddenly, a well-hidden Claymore goes off and explodes in Shock's face, pushing her back. Snake then recovers off the ground with SOCOM in hand, and starts firing accurately at her. Shock dodges out of the way.
-Shock starts to talk to Snake during battle, while Snake is taking cover from a crate. Shock is slipping little spider-mines into the ground. After dropping about 8 Spider-mines, Shock continues onto battle. The Spider-mines chase their way to Snake, but once again, well placed Claymores destroyed them all before reaching Snake. Snake creeps out from his corner and starts shooting at Shock.
-Shock gets angry and thrusts her arm into to wall, causing a electrical knockout of the power inside the room. Snake hears Shock run around, when suddenly, the footsteps stop. Snake starts punching and kicking the air, and suddenly, he finishes it with a front kick. When the lights come back on, Shock is bleeding on the ground. When Snake goes up to her, he tells her that he didn't even hit her, and that whatever he was hitting was a large male. Shock also says that she was stabbed 3 times in the stomach, but managed to scratch whoever it was with deep scars.
SHOCK'S ENDING
-When Shock loses, she tells that all she wanted was to live a normal life. She wanted to marry someone, live in a nice house with a white picket fence. She was forced to become a member of FOXHOUND because of her powers, and she feels abandoned by FOXHOUND ever since Big Boss, her only true teacher and master, was labeled as a villian.
Shock says that only the leader and Snake has the true uncloudedness of completing a task. She says that other men just see her as a body, which is why she devotes most of her PSI to destruction rather than mind reading and telepathy. Snake picks her up and sends her through an escape pod. Shock later dies on her own, but before disarming Beaker's machine before it nearly killed Snake.
-Snake is creeping through a storage facility. Suddenly, the alarm rings. Soldiers run across the doorway, shouting, "It's the intruder! He's in sector 5-C!" Snake is calmly hiding behind a box. Snake gets Codec by Amuie. She tells him that some sort of disturbance is causing Snake's signal to be projected all over the security systems. Amuie hacks into the main computer, and finally, the security system alarms stop ringing.
Mind Beaker - The FOXHOUND agent that was sent. He was influenced by Phantom Twin and lost his mind, feeling as FOXHOUND has only been using them to do their bidding. He tells Snake that he too is being used. He says the terrorists were only trying to destroy a compound that could kill millions, as the terrorists know that the base isn't even operational yet. He is the villian in the game.
-The final boss is Mind Beaker in a Gyro-machine with two huge arms on the side. It moves with wires connected to the ceiling. Beaker is armed with a machine gun which sprays incredibly fast bullets. The arms will attempt to swing and grab Snake. A chaff grenade will disable it, forcing Beaker to start charging for energy to power up his machine again. Thus, keeping Beaker to stall for a moment while Snake launches a grenade into Beaker's Gyro-machine.
BATTLE
- Snake starts by shooting him with his rifle at his head. Mind Beaker blocks any attempts by covering his 'head' with one of his arms. Snake then attempts to disable Mind Beaker by throwing a chaff grenade. Mind Beaker's machine starts to fizzle, obviously losing some power. Snake decides to act quickly by emerging from behind a box and shooting a Stinger into him. The Stinger rocks Mind Beaker, forcing him father against the wall. Then, Mind Beaker puts on a show to display 'his awsome power' by charging Mind Beaker's Gyromachine back to full power. He then continues to attack. Mind Beaker drops a huge iron fist and slides it Snake's way. Snake leaps to the side and barely dodges it. Suddenly, Mind Beaker starts to warm up his chaingun and fires sprays of fast moving bullets towards Snake. Snake again dodges.
-Snake hides behind another crate. Snake throws another Chaff grenade at Mind Beaker. This time, Mind Beaker is well prepared. Beaker catches the grenade in his 'arms' and wraps his hands around it. The grenade explodes, but the electronic particles don't spread around the battlefield. Beaker then tosses the destroyed Chaff grenade to the ground. Snake realizes he only has one Chaff grenade left, so Snake runs into the open fields with his FAMAs.
-Snake sprays the FAMAs at Beaker with absolute accuracy. Beaker covers up the gunfire with his hand. Snake runs out of bullets in his FAMAs, then reloads it quickly. Beaker uses his second hand for protection. Almost instantly, Snake sees the opening he needs, and he throws a Stun grenade. Beaker realizes and starts aiming the Chaingun at it, firing. Beaker hits it, only for a powerful bright flash to overwhelm him. Snake then throws a grenade into the seat of the Gyro-machine. The grenade bounces off the control panel and below Beaker's seat. Beaker was still recovering from the flash, when suddenly, the Grenade blew up, destroying the machine and causing it to blow off from the ceiling.
-The machine is immobile on the ground, but that doesn't mean that Beaker stops using the arms as weapons. He grabs Snake with both arms and traps him against the wall. Electrical streams run through Snake's body. Snake is screaming out in agonizing pain. Suddenly, a familar voice cries out his name. "SNAKE!" Its Shock Beetle, all the way above on the surface. She is near death, but she focuses all of her Psychic energies into her mind. Almost instantly, on of the arms holding Snake breaks apart. Then, the other arm falls. Snake forces it off of him, takes out his FAMAs, and sprays the bullets like a bat out of hell. Then, Snake falls to the ground and Beaker falls out of his machine. Just as Snake and Beaker fall, Shock drops her hand to the ground almost simutaniously.
CHAPTER 1 - Dancing With Campbell
Its a dark night. Rain is politely dripping from the sky. A Cruiser boat swims by, patrolling the seas with its mightly light. Suddenly, two Jets zooms by. The Cruiser starts to put chase towards the Jets.
Soldier - Sir! We spotted 2 Nightstalker Stealth Jets.
Radio - Give the go! Take em' out!
Soldier - Yes sir! Launching Surface-to-air missiles!
The Jets fly by, as a slice of thunder strikes near them. A woman near the island in a trench coat, unknowning to the player as Shock Beetle, sips on her french cigarrette. Her face never appears near the camera, but one could tell her agitation as she clasps hard into her hand. The Cruisers launch their missiles, while continuing to follow the Jets' path.
Shock- Missed.
Suddenly, a huge test tube hits the water, making a gloop noise. The test tube sinks into the water a little bit, then rises back to the surface. The Capsule opens up, and a shadowy figure climbs out. The figure adjusts his aqua-mask, and dives head first into the water.
A first-person view of Snake swimming through the cold water. Bubbles fly to the side of the screen every few moments. Images of a dark, danky room and Snake leaning against a wall. A air-conditioner fan is spinning quickly on the side of the wall. Sitting behind a desk, Colonel Campbell is looking through papers and reading off a glowing computer monitor.
Campbell - Snake, I called you back here
Snake - Colonel, I thought you went back to retirement after the second operation in South Africa almost a year ago.
Campbell - And I see you returned to Alaska. It wasn't the most easiest task to locate you, Snake.
Snake - Sometimes, you just don't wanna be found. Why are you back with FOXHOUND?
Campbell - Lets just say that a soldier can never really avoid the battlefield. They can rest from the sidelines, but never stop fighting completely.
Snake - You didn't call me here to just talk about the battlefield, now did you?
Campbell - No Snake, I haven't. We called you here because we need you back. As we speak, one of our agents is under MIA, and we need you to infiltrate the area.
Snake - I don't do rescue missions.
Campbell - There are Nuclear weapons hidden at Compound, as well as a few of the new latest weapons in mechanical warfare.
Snake - You mean... a Metal Gear?
Campbell - There is a possibility. Now Snake, there is nothing forcing you to take this operation. I can't tell you anything more about it until you sign on with us. The question is, are you with us?
Snake swims on. A metallic wall, infused with the gravel of the earth, is seen in the distance. Snake swims up to the surface. There, he is on what can barely be called a beach, but more of a large Oil Rig thats out at sea. Snake takes off his swimsuit and is back in his espionage gear. Snake thinks back to the conversation.
Snake - You kidnapping me doesn't sound like you just want ask me help.
Campbell - Two of our ex-FOXHOUND members are part of this terrorist force, both of them leaving after the Big Boss incident.
Snake - You sure are persuasive. I accept.
Campbell - All of this is top secret information in this folder. Under legal restrictions from the boys up above, I can only tell you when you start this operation.
Snake shakes out any excess water from his body. He removes the swimming gear off and tosses it on the ground. He won't be needing it anymore. Suddenly, Snake Codecs Campbell again.
Snake - Colonel, I've arrived at the checkpoint location.
Campbell - Enjoying a visit to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean?
Snake - I've been to better.
Campbell - Well, the Ex-32b Secret Weapons Compound, codenamed "Blue Eve", is built as 6 independent bases going vertically all the way to the bottom of sea level. Each base has 3 narrow shafts connecting them to one another. 2 shafts for material movements, 1 shaft for emergencies. We believe that the leader of the Terrorist threat is directly located at Level 6, the lowest of the 6 bases from the surface. We've lost agent Mind Beaker at Level 4.
(The screen shows a skeletal image of the base)
Amuie - Hallo, Solid Snake! Nice ta meetcha!
Snake - ?
Campbell - This is Amuie Lombardi. She is daughter to another person we want you to look for. Dr. Lombardi is the lead scientist in the Blue Eve Compound. He holds secrets of the Nuclear storage locations. There are also almost 20 scientists held hostage in the facility, as well as more than 300 engineers.
Snake - Then why the girl?
Campbell - Dr. Lombardi locked away the nuclear locations in a few distinct safe-casing computers, all armed with unique encoded passwords and voice recognition devices to protect it. Amuie is also a skilled computer hacker. You'll find her necessary to learn if the nuclear weapons are still hidden.
Snake - So I'm babysitting her?
Amuie - I don't care what this so called Living Legend has done in the past, but he sure is rude! He's not that smart either, knowing that he'll need someone as smart as me to help him get through all of the technical difficulties he'll probably encounter.
Snake - Already she's a thorn in my side.
Amuie - Listen, Snakey, you may be the best tactical espionage spy guy in the real world, but Im the best tactical espionage spy gal in cyberspace! In a world like today, you're going to need eyes everywhere.
Campbell - The guys upstairs don't want this mission to leak out, anywhere. It was hard enough to get the more than 4 people on this operation, and ever since we lost agent Mind Beaker, they want even more closed lips on this. I originally planned to have Amuie as just a source of information, but after she passed a few of our cyberspace VR training missions and bested some of our finest, she immediately was placed onto the team.
Snake - It makes it sound like the generation of today rather fight a war behind a television screen than in a real battlefield.
Campbell - Just remember one thing Snake, Amuie is not, I repeat, not a government agent. Do not treat her as one, intentially or un-intentially.
Snake - Who's the fourth person?
Campbell - What?
Snake - You said that there were 4 people on this operation. Who's the fourth one?
Campbell - 4th? I said 3 Snake.
Snake - I heard 4.
Amuie - Snake~!!!! Hurry up! Lets get to work! You have to head to level 2, the Military Training Facility. There are a few guards protecting the Oil Rig, but its to dankly and smelly that, most of the soldiers just stay near the elevator. You shouldn't have any problem sneaking in.
Snake - I'm taking orders from a little girl.
Amuie - Hey! I led Mind Beaker the same way!
Snake - And look how well he turned out.
Campbell - Enough you two! This is a highly classified mission. There is no need for comments like that on the battlefield. Snake, infiltrate and reach level two ASAP.
Snake walks closer to the Oil Rig. He looks up, does a dramatic pose. Then, the enchanting words of 'Metal Gear' appear, as Snake stands powerfully, his bandana blowing in the wind. Then, Snake charges inside.
CHAPTER 2 - Jungle Boogie
Inside the compound, Snake looks through bionoculars. At first, he looks at a few soldiers. He zooms in on them to look at their guns.
Snake - Colonel, those soldiers are wearing Badger Gear and holding M9s. Whats UN soldiers doing here?
Colonel - Their uniforms are part of Jungle Warfare, originating and made popular during the Vietnam war. These days, terrorists wear anything they can get their hands on with no military purpose. Obviously, The Badger gear provides them with less mobility but good protection against piercing objects. Then again, you shouldn't worry about what they wear, but what they got in their hands.
Colonel - The M9s, able to attach silencers, Smoke suppressors, laser sighting, auto-reload devices, grenade launchers, and pretty much anything else you can think of. Think of it as the latest in the war of Smart Technology. Made by the Israelian army to arm themselves during a war where sight was very limited and the terrain environment can be anything from harsh to peaceful.
Snake - Sort of like here.
Colonel - M9s are useful anywhere. It shouldn't be a surprised who has them now and days.
Snake walks some more. He takes out the bionoculars once more. This time, Snake zooms in on Jungle Gurrella. Snake can't hear what they are saying, so he edge on closer to listen in on them. He is talking to Shock, who is still wet from her little expedition in the rain.
Shock - They obviously sent some sort of reconassance. If I were you, I'd double down on my troops again.
Jungle - Every one of my men are just as loyal as I am. I think Phantom is just paranoid.
Shock - Lets just hope its that. Im not planning to tap into any more minds today, after I saw the garbage in yours.
Jungle - You don't think its strange that we found Stealth Fighters fly by?
Shock - Of course I found it strange. If anything, they could have sent another spy over here. Damn United States Government. Once again, they attempt to screw me over!
Jungle - They're not the only ones trying to screw you.
Shock - Feh. You're a pig.
Jungle - Don't you need to go back?
Shock - Im going now.
Shock leaves though the elevator with a few boxes. She waves, but then angerily sticks out her tongue as she leaves downward.
Jungle - Good, and make me some of that sweet pie while you're down there that you can make. I need a morale boost.
Snake messages Colonel by Codec.
Snake - Colonel! Thats...
Campbell - Yes Snake. Its Jungle Guerrilla.
Snake - I thought he died in South Africa.
Amuie - Well, after I hacked into a few Government databases...
Snake - ....
Amuie - I managed to find out some information about Jungle Gurrella. Brazilian borned, Lewis Delmonte'. Became part of the Armed Forces of Brazil, then into the US army before joining FOXHOUND as a military elite specialist.
Campbell - We sent him in to escort the Delta force in South Africa. We knew the risks of sending FOXHOUND for a common military assault mission as this, but we didn't know the exact details.
Amuie - It said he was killed in action, but obviously, he must have escaped after the Terrorist Regime there was completely eliminated.
Snake - ...
Amuie - What's wrong Snake?
Snake - I don't like the idea of you knowing about confidential information when you're neither part of the CIA or the Pentagon.
Amuie - Don't worry, Im not going to like, sell it on Ebay or anything. If it was supposed to be confidential, then they should have safeguarded it more better.
Snake - Either way, I don't like kids just out of high school being able to go through my records.
Amuie - Hey! I went to College! I've been.....
(Snake signs off his codec.)
Amuie - ....
Amuie - I don't like him.
Snake runs towards the elevator. Its a long dark hallway. In the distance, Snake hears a soldier talking to another.
Soldier 1 - Hey, wake up!
Soldier 2 - Huh? Oh, my shifts' done already?
Soldier 1 - Yup. Its my turn to take a nap. Go patrol the Elevator, and watch out, the boss is there.
Soldier 2 - Well, guess there's no more nap time for me.
Snake continues down the corridor like a black cat. Snake accidently steps on water. A huge exclamation point appears on top of Snake's head. Snake runs back and hides in the darkness. Suddenly, the soldier starts shouting in the darkness. confronts a soldier one on one, threatens him with a gun.
Soldier - Who's there? Show yourself?
Soldier - ....
Soldier - Hmmm... must be rat or something.
Out of the darkness, Snake leaps out with his flashlight on top of his pistol, surprising the Soldier. Out of fear, the Soldier drops his assault rifle to the ground and leaps back, scared as hell.
Snake - Tell me about the elevator!
Soldier - Please, don't shoot!
Snake - Great, another VR soldier.
Soldier - Wait... you don't seem to...
(The soldier lowers his hands)
Snake - Did I tell you to put your hands down?
The Soldier doesn't seem to care. Snake reloads his SOCOM into the head of the Soldier.
Soldier - Go ahead. Shoot me. I dare you.
Snake fires a deafening shot to the ear of the Soldier, putting him back into fear.
Soldier - Just like training. They taught about fear tactics that the enemy will use.
Snake - This isn't no VR mission.
(Snake shoots the Soldier in the arm, and aims his gun directly at the Soldier's eyes)
Snake - Now, are you going to tell me about the elevators, or not?
(The Soldier is nearly crying.)
Soldier - Its the only elevator down! Our boss is guarding it, along with 4 other soldiers!
Snake - There's no other elevators?
Soldier - None that I know about!
(Snake clicks his weapon)
Soldier - Honest! Now please, don't hurt... me....
The soldier falls down unconcious. The shot that Snake fired was a tranquilizer gun, and it was finally taking effect. The sound of the body hitting the ground immediately is heard by Jungle. The other soldiers don't seem to realize. The scene cuts to Jungle's eyes.
Gurrella - My spidey senses are tingling.
Gurrella - Atten-hut!
(The soldiers stop walking and assume a salute position. )
Gurrella - Our prey is close. All hands, scout the perimeter! Ill deal with this.
(The Soldiers run off)
Gurrella - Come now. No need to hide. I know you're there. You smell... like sewer water.
Gurrella - You must have been in the cold water for some time. Come now, let uncle warm you by the fire.
Gurrella - There's nothing I have that can hurt you. Maybe, except, this here assault rifle.
Gurrella - You sound... unarmed.
Gurrella - Fine.
(Gurrella puts his assault rifle in a box and locks it. He then kicks the box towards the elevator.)
Gurrella - Come now. You and me. Like real men.
Snake creeps behind a metal crate and waits there. He peers his head to the corner and looks at Jungle. Snake loads his SOCOM with real bullets.
Gurrella - So, hiding behind that crate. You might as well put that handgun down too.
Snake leaves his hiding place. His pistol is in his hands, but not aimed or readied.
Gurrella - Well well, if it isn't the infamous Solid Snake. I have excellent hearing and sense of smell, the effects of thousands of battles and dozens of wars. If you don't remember me, it's fine. Its best that FOXHOUND forget about all of its past agents anyways.
Snake - I know your history well. MIA at a Search and Destroy operation near South Africa during the Peacekeeping missions in '96. Boys up in Washington didn't want the operation to leak to the UN, with it breaking so many laws, so they merely ignored your existance to cover up the operation.
Gurrella - You did your homework well, Snake. It doesn't matter, its old news.
Snake - Why switch sides so suddenly? FOXHOUND isn't the reason to breed terrorists.
Gurrella - I'm still a loyal soldier. My ethics has change, and so has my commander. But don't be surprised. In this day of age, you can't even trust your own comrades during war. The only thing you can trust is your mind, and your gun. And when you can't make up your mind, then start reasoning with your gun.
Snake - Soldiers don't think that way.
Gurrella - Soldiers listen to what their commander tells them to do, and do it. We're just pawns in a chess game. Chess is always 2-sided Snake. Always a black and a white.
Gurrella - Well, not in this day of age. Everyone's shaded grey. You don't know what you're fighting against, but you know that you were always grey. When you attack, you attack someone grey, and hope that they are the enemy.
Snake - You're not even making sense anymore.
Gurrella - True war isn't about overpowering your enemies or overcoming hardships. Its about picking who your enemies are and when to kill them, or picking who your allies are and when to trust them. But most of the time, its all about how itchy your trigger finger is and how well you can aim. That is what you can trust.
Snake - You're a cold man to believe that the only person you can trust is your gun.
Gurrella - Sadly, as you can see, I used to trust FOXHOUND, and they left me to die.
Snake - They did what they had to do. You're a soldier, you know they sacrifice just as much as we do during every battle.
Gurrella - Im surprised you'd say something like that. When Big Boss abandoned us, you had to feel it all first hand! That had to be a harsh slap in the face.
Snake - I don't let my past bother me. War is war, people live, and people die.
Gurrella - What do you know about war? You may be a soldier, but you have yet to see real war. You have yet to see thousands fight on and only a handful survive. You're a TES (Tactics Espionage Spy). You can always hide whenever there's trouble. Grunts can't.
Snake - You have no idea what I've seen.
Gurrella - Enough of this chatter. I'll show you how experienced a true Soldier of War is.
During the Battle
-Gurrella starts shooting his pistol at Snake. Snake is running across the battlefield, as Gurrella is firing one shot at a time, standing in the same spot. When Gurrella reloads, Snake hides behind a metal crate. Gurrella leaps in front of Snake and shoots two to three bullets. Snake rolls out of the way and runs to the opposite side of the battlefield. Gurrella chases after him. When Gurrella turns the same corner as Snake, he loses him. Suddenly, from behind, Snake grabs Gurrella and toss him to the ground.
Gurrella gets back up and punches Snake hard in the face, then backhands him, sending Snake flying backwards. Snake falls on his back. Gurrella charges at Snake, but Snake takes out his SOCOM and starts firing bullets into Gurrella's body. Gurrella takes a few bullets and hides behind a corner. Gurrella looks at his wounds, and starts taking something out of his pocket. He attaches something to his pistol.
Gurrella - Im sorry I decieved you, Snake. Guess you can't even trust your enemies now. This isn't just a pistol. It can convert into a semi. See?
Gurrella turns to where Snake was. Obviously, Snake isn't there anymore. Gurrella looks around for Snake, and he hears Snake's footsteps. Gurrella fires a rapid spray of bullets towards Snake. Snake immediately dives to the ground onto his body. Gurrella throws a grenade towards Snake. Snake hops out of his hiding spot and shoots the grenade in the air, causing it to explode. Snake then fires two shots at Gurrella. Gurrella hops towards the ground. Snake leaves his hiding spot and starts shooting one bullet at a time towards Gurrella. Gurrella hops on the ground, dodging Snake's bullets in a first person view. Gurrella reloads instantly, and fires another spray at Snake. Snake leaps to the side.
Gurrella - Hey Snake. I'm nearly out of bullets. I can smell that that's your last clip. Im guessing, 2 bullets left? Come now. Lets fight like real men!
Gurrella tosses his gun to the ground in front of Snake. Snake comes out and prepares to fight hand to hand. Gurrella slides out a combat knife against Snake, taking a swipe at him. Snake dodges swiftfully, taking out his pistol once more and firing the last remaining shots he had at Gurrella. Gurrella takes the two shots to his body, falls back a little, spins around, and wipes out a hidden pistol that he hide in his leg. He starts shooting at Snake. Snake leaps towards the gun that Gurrella threw to the ground. He picks up the clip and loads it in his SOCOM. They both stand there with their guns.
The elevator alarm turns on.
Gurrella - Look at it Snake! Thats the last elevator for the next 2 hours! Either way, one of us will reach it!
Gurrella - Har Har! There's only 7 bullets in that clip you have. Come now, lets fight like....
Snake kicks Gurrella's gun right out of his hands. It flies off somewhere.
Suddenly, the elevator spring doors open. Snake and Gurrella continue to fight. Gurrella grabs Snake in a bear hug. Snake breaks lose and kicks Gurrella to the ground. Snake makes a mad dash towards the elevator. Gurrella grabs Snake, but Snake manages to break free, losing his cigarrettes. As Snake runs towards the elevator, soldiers lined up on the second floor start shooting at him. Snake dives into the elevator just before the doors close, grabbing with him the box that Gurrella placed a Assault Rifle in. He rides it down.
Gurrella gets up, holding on the Cigarrettes in his hand. He takes one out and starts smoking. He blows out a puff of smoke.
Gurrella - He's definitely a soldier. A soldier with a bad habit, but a soldier none-the-less.
Gurrella - (Towards his Soldiers) Tell Phantom to activate the Emergency Shaft. We need to get down there.
Gurrella walks towards the elevator.
Snake gets on Codec.
Amuie - Snake! Are you alright?!
Snake - Im ok. But I lose my smokes during that fight.
Amuie - Cigarrettes are bad for you anyways. Its better that you lose them.
Snake - They were more of a good luck charm than a stress reliever.
All of a sudden, a pack of Cigarrettes is thrown from the top of the elevator and falls directly in front of Snake.
Amuie - What happen?
Snake - A little bit of Good Luck.
CHAPTER 3 - ROCK THE CASBA
Campbell - Snake, how are you holding up?
Snake - I'm better than most. I got a nice little present from Gurrella; a fully loaded FAMAS.
Campbell - I thought I'd call. I had a feeling you were feeling lonely.
Snake - I've only been riding this elevator for 20 minutes. I won't die from lonelyness.
Campbell - You're still the same Snake. You haven't lost anything during your time off.
Snake - Anything new about the terrorists?
Campbell - They seem to be green in the world. But, they aren't asking for anything.
Snake - No random? No demands?
Campbell - Nope. Not even the president knows about this situation, or this area. Its all under tight lips.
Snake - All except for the nuclear weapons, why else would they take over a place like this?
Amuie - I can fill Snakey on this.
Snake - Snakey?
Amuie - They actually had sent one demand.
Snake - What was it?
Amuie - They want the base to themselves.
Snake - Not much to reason with. Maybe a place to call home.
Amuie - Well, they seemed to plan this attack well, knowing all the insides and outside fortifications and exactly whats being transported there. The terrorists attacked exactly after a few nukes and a few unidentified packages were delivered there.
Snake - Terrorists that just like to sit on top of a nuke. Obvious they want to keep themselves warm with it, and nothing else. They already had one FOXHOUND here. When FOXHOUND's involved, getting Government information is as easy as having a kid play with a computer.
Amuie - Hey! I do alot more than just play with computers!
Campbell - It used to be a time when you were part of FOXHOUND instead of fighting against them.
Snake - Them? You mean there's more?
Campbell - ....
Snake - Tell me! Why are we fighting FOXHOUND? I thought you sent in a member of FOXHOUND to disassemble this operation!
Campbell - Relax Snake. Along with Gurrella, there is one more 'former' FOXHOUND member. You might know her.
Snake - You mean...
Campbell - Shock Beetle.
Snake - I haven't seen her for so long. That must have been her who was talking to Gurrella.
Campbell -
Amuie - How were you aquanted with this Miss Elona?
Snake - Kid's shouldn't butt their nose into other people's belongings.
Amuie - Come on! Tell me...David!
Snake - .....
Snake - Before Outer Heaven, Shock Beetle helped me understand some of the infiltration techniques. Next to Master Miller, she was like my second teacher, even if she was only a few years older than me.
Amuie - Oh, so you like older women!
Snake - ....
Amuie - Go on!
Snake - Everyone had a close relationship with someone in FOXHOUND. Big Boss was like a father to me, and Shock was like a sister.
Amuie - Oh...
Campbell - Snake! We just heard
It appears Gurrella is talking to Phantom. Gurrella doesn't tell Phantom about Snake, but Phantom is suspicious. Phantom starts focusing his mind on Snake. Snake starts holding onto his head. Then, its all over, Snake returns to normal. Phantom learns of Snake's position and tells Boom.
-Boom is busy training soldiers. After hearing the news about Snake's arrival, he calls on his soldiers and sends them all to the elevator.
-When Snake gets out of the elevator, about 50 soldiers are standing there, pointing their guns at Snake. "Let me guess. I'm on the wrong floor." A soldier steps forward and knocks Snake unconcious.
-There is a side view of another joyride. This time, it is a horizontal platform seperated into two rooms. Snake wakes up on the floor. In the oppposing room is Boom.
-Boom talks to Snake like a confession stand.
INTRO
Snake is in a elevator, riding it down. His weapons are gone. In the opposing elevator, riding side by side, is Boom. Similar to a confessional stand, Boom talks to Snake. He talks about the horror of war, the horrors of pain and destruction from it. Then, he talks about how he was surrounded by enemy troops. He pulls out a grenade to sacrifice himself. Being at the center of the explosion, Boom thought he was going to die. Instead, the explosion kills off all the enemy troops and leaves him with only a scar. They get their clothes back, and enter the battle arena.
-Boom wires Solid Snake's clothes with a detonation device. There is no timer. The problem is, that if Boom's heart stop beating, then Snake's bomb explode, and vice versa. So either way, they both are going to die.
-Boom strikes the glass ground below him, causing them to jump to the second battlestage. This stage is filled with metal crates, similar to the battle Snake had against the Turrican Vulture guy in MGS.
BOOM ENDING
-Boom is about to die. He is bleeding horribly, spitting each word with blood. So filled with anger, he takes out the detonation pin. He tells Snake that he was planning to die anyway today, so he might as well take him out first. Boom sets a distance away from Snake. Boom runs down the middle of the Crates area, throwing bombs through the small hallways as he runs from one end to the other. He reaches the end, and much more massive explosions erupt. Boom is also shooting his shotgun in the middle of the hallway. Then, he takes out Snake's detonation device pin and pushes it. Suddenly, a beep is heard behind Boom. Boom turns around, and sees Snake's bomb strapped against a wall. The explosion thrusts Boom against a steel box, ripping through his body. Boom falls to the ground onto his back.
-Snake gets out of the shadows and approaches Boom.
-"Ive seen too much killing. I've seen horror beyond its peak. SImply, i couldn't take it anymore. I wanted everyone to suffer... suffer just like I did! I want everyone to burn and be tormented with the images of death! I'm not crazy. Filled with vengence, filled with rage. Your eyes have it too, Solid Snake. Your eyes have seen as much brutality as mines have. Yet, you are so calm, Solid Snake."
-"Anger is part of the heart. As troubling as it may sound, you still have a heart. My heart is cold, empty without feelings. "
-"Aye, I would trade my entire arsenal for no heart. Anything to stop this constant bloodlust. Even now, at my moment of death, I want to watch someone in pain. Then again, I'd probably just turn out to be another cold-hearted killer. Just like you! heh-heh. Don't let anger and vengence get to you lad, as it blurs the mind. Now, get out of here. Otherwise, you'll die in the explosions too."
-"I would have thought you'd enjoy watching me burn."
-"Anger has corrupted my mind. I never got my vengence, Solid Snake. Maybe you will. Plus, I still have a heart! Hah hah!"
CHAPTER 4 - THE ELECTRIC SLIDE
-Snake attempts to hook up the sattilite link up with Amuie's link, allowing her control over the facility.
-Shock interrupts Snake's attempt. They square off outside the computer room. Snake defeats her, but Gurrella kills her. Snake asks Amuie to hack into the elevator, as Snake places Shock's weaken body and sends her to the surface.
-While Snake is walking, Amuie also manages to break into the Codec, allowing her to listen to all of the action.
-Snake finds Gurrella talking to Dr. Lombardi and the other scientists. Gurrella talks to Lombardi about Amuie. He also tells the scientists that Phantom will be there shortly. So, he tells them that he's going to come in with his rifles blazing in the air.
-Gurrella meets up with Phantom, who walks in front of about 10 soldiers. Phantom is highly suspicious of Gurrella, but smiles pleasingly about it. Gurrella kicks the door open and starts shooting the air, demanding absolute silence. The other scientists are chased out, and Gurrella, Phantom, and Dr. Lombardi have the prison room to themselves.
-Snake is still looking through bionoculars. Suddenly, he sees Gurrella holding a gun towards Dr. Lombardi's head. A loud gunfire is heard, all while focusing on Snake. Gurrella and Phantom leave the prison, as the soldiers aim their guns towards the scientists, demanding them to walk.
-Snake follows them as they take them to the elevator. Snake hops on top of the metal plate on the ceiling, as they ride down to Level 4, the Weapons Facility.
-Snake asks Amuie the status of the Nukes. She is trembling, nearly crying. Suddenly, she signs off. Campbell tells Snake that the 3 of the 48 Nuclear warheads have been disabled, but 1 of them is missing. He says that the operation to disable the warheads is slower then realize.
