First Responder

First Responder is a 40 hour emergency care course. This course provides an extended comprehensive review of the techniques needed to provide prompt emergency care.

The course will cover the following issues.
Anatomy & Physiology
Patient Assessment
Basic life support (CPR)
Airway management and the use of oxygen 
Wounds and fractures
Medical emergency
Childbirth
Environmental Emergencies
Patient Extrication & Vehicle Stabilization
Patient transportation
AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

This training consist of both in classroom and practical application.

First responder courses are commonly taken by firefighter, police, wilderness guides, Boy & Girl Scouts Troups, and any person interested in recieving basic emergency medical training at a higher level then standard first aid.
