Thank You
Simple pleasures of the mind,
Are what I crave to unwind,
My body from the molten masses,
Slowly, like thick, dark molasses.
Need to distract my thoughts,
A life beyond turmoil is sought,
Amongst strangers with caution,
My mind is on the verge of exhaustion.
Unhappy with life here at home,
I buried myself in yet another tome,
Hiding within my pain and anger,
Wanting to find rest
an anchor.
Then along came a gentle man,
With thank you's & "Yes ma'am",
Altho' he has troubles of his own,
His caring soul has brightly shone.
So together as friends we walk,
And weathering our storms we talk,
Of ways to get through this life,
How to live again without strife.
I want to take this moment of time,
To thank a Texan with my rhyme.
Your friendship has brought me light,
In my otherwise dark and lonely night.
