Sweet Darkness

When darkness falls upon me with its sweet caress.
And time no longer matters,
My mind takes a nightly trip,
To a place that is full of love, a place without stress.

This wondrous place of dreams and laughter,
Where I can be beside anyone I dare,
With melodious dance I do entice,
The man I love, so nothing else does matter.

My love and I, we take our pleasures there,
Amongst the moon and stars,
And as we play our lovers' games,
Our bodies move as one to only give and share.

His arms wrap 'round me in moonlit delight,
And our flesh is bathed with dew,
My heart, oh God, it does soar so high,
Here he loves only me, and my soul, it takes flight.

My wants and needs are fulfilled in this private place,
Where the outside world cannot enter,
I give all of myself, with no heed or care,
Because, you see, love for me is written on his face.

The dawn arrives to quickly, and our dance seems to be over,
But I take heart as my daylight hours are spent,
Anticipating the evening when once again,
I will dance to please this man, my dreamtime lover.
