My Wish

Candlelight dinners late at night,
Warm beaches bathed in moonlight,
Laughing at some silly joke,
Meeting new and exciting folk.

Breakfast made with loving hands,
Served in bed, no pots and pans,
Playing games between the covers,
Acting like two long lost lovers.

Dancing and twirling out in the rain,
Watching wild horses on the plain,
Birds singing and sipping dawn's dew,
Enjoying everything that's new.

Reading from a discovered book,
Basking in the glow of a lover's look,
Children smiling at puppies' antics,
Old treasures, once lost in attics.

Walking out amongst the trees,
Bright red roses brimming with bees,
Kittens playing with a ball of yarn,
Brand new babies out in the barn.

We have so many wondrous things,
That make this heart rise and sing,
What I want this day for me… for you,
Is to enjoy them with eyes anew.
