Heart and Soul

I wonder oft times why I continue to be alone,
In this world full of people, this world unknown,
My heart teems with love, yearns to give someone new,
If only my life was not so embroiled, so askew.

Love keeps avoiding my wounded heart of gold,
Now I begin to feel unwanted, tired and old,
If someone would pause to see the goodness inside,
Instead I get a cold shoulder; another denied.

I found the one I would give all I have and more,
His voice could freeze the tide upon the shore,
I would not notice as my eyes drink in his words,
My heartbeat quickens, begins racing like a bird's.

He could have me heart and soul if he dared,
On this Earth, nothing could be compared,
If he would give it half a chance he would see,
My love can breech any walls, calm any stormy sea.

Cupid's arrow must find it's way past his uncertainty,
Venus' army I implore you with my passionate plea,
Eros join them in my quest to win this man's heart,
Let him see my warmth, my love, my soul, I do impart!
