As Time Goes
By
As time goes by,
Somehow, it's now July,
I find myself here,
As I persevere,
Waiting for the one,
Who brings the sun.
In his every word,
Like a phoenix bird,
He sets me on fire,
A glowing sapphire,
Soon we will meet,
To make our bond complete.
His every action,
Is instant attraction,
Unlike Adam and Eve,
We are not nave.
In the ways of love,
We know the meaning thereof.
For him I will linger,
Like a pungent ginger,
All of my being is his,
As if dawn's first kiss,
Renown lovers of the past,
Are nothing by contrast.
