| Profile: Age : 26 Height : 5'10" Hair Color : Black Eye Color : Brown Student : Columbia Univeristy School of Public Health., Master's in Public Health Interests : What I love to do most is dance, with my favorite dance being a waltz to beautiful music. I also enjoy playing classical music and improvising on the piano, attending cultural events, hiking and walking in the park with my dog, Simon. Other favorite pastimes including having conversations with friends over tea and exploring the night markets of Taipei Interview: Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why? ~Audrey Hepburn. She was a beautiful woman with so much charm. For me, what was most captivating about her was her inner beauty and compassion, which were manifest in her role as a voice for the needy children of the world. She inspires me by reminding me that true beauty comes from within. What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you (aside from winning your title) and/or what is the most interesting thing about you? ~Upon learning about my winning the title of Miss Chinese Taipei, the Taiwanese Chamber of Commerence in Ecuador invited me to take part in a special Taiwanese community event in February. The most unique thing that has ever happened to me came from that expereince. I was asked to be the godmother of a ten-year-old Ecuadorian girl three days after we first met and to attend her first communion. I was very happy to accept as well as was honored and touched by the invitation. What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal? ~I believe everyone has a right to live happy, healthy lives. My goal is to improve access to medical care in the world. I hope to be able to represent Taiwan in international organizations and to help foster a spirit of cooperation between Taiwan and other countries in fighting global health threats. AS Miss Chinese Taipei, I have been working to connect health resources with those who need them. Are you currently a student? If yes, where? What is your area of study? ~Columbia University School of Public Health., Master's in Public Health., Master's in Public Health with plans to pursue a Ph.D. List any interesting or unusual jobs you may have had. ~One of my most interesting expereinces was working at the office of Senator Hillary Clinton. Her health plan initiated my interest in my career path and in doing something to help people who do not have access to medical care. Desrible your childhood home and living conditions. Were you raised with a large family with lots of brothers and sisters? ~I spent time living on a farm in Fung Yung with my grandparents and in Taipei with my parents. Memories of growing up include catching Tadpoles in rice patties and shopping in Taipei's trendy department stores! My older sister and I played frequently with our many cousins -- it was like having 20 siblings! A close-knit extended family is a hallmark of Taiwanese culture. The loving environment of my childhood taught me the importance of shoring and being considerate of other.s What one word describes you best? ~Compassionate |
