Name one person, other than your parents, who has had the most influence on your life. Why?
~Serena Does, my best friend and cofidant for almost six years now. She is the one person who constantly challenges my thoughts and ideas. It is thanks to her that I see the world today the way I do and with whom I base my life on compassion, empathy, mindfulness, and righteousness.
What is the most interesting or unique thing that has ever happened to you (aside from winning your title) and/or what is the most interesting thing about you?
~As an Ambassador of Goodwill in my country i was able to share my knowledge about and experiences with dreams, motivation and perseverance with young teens during different talks at different high schools on the island.
What is your career ambition and what are you doing or plan to do to accomplish that goal?
~I waspire to take part in the fashion business as a model. I had given up on this dream for a while because I had decided to continue my academic career in Holland. It didn't turn out to be as fulfulling as I had hoped it would, and I am now very convinced that moving to Holland and stepping away from the entertainemtn business was probably a not-so-wise career move. But I've been given a second change to get back on that track by once again taking part in a prestigious and glamours pageant such as the Miss Universe Pageant. I hope it will provide me with the necessary opportunities to step back into the entertainment and fashion worlds.

~Main host for a local TV program called "Poets TV" where I traveled around the world to interview successful Arubans living abroad. Special work with the Aruban community as an Ambassador of Goodwill. Local photo and runway model.
Desrible your childhood home and living conditions. Were you raised with a large family with lots of brothers and sisters?
~I grew up on a very tiny and warm island in the Caribbean, Aruba. I am a child of the sun and a lover of the beaches that surround the island. The population of Aruba is very small and counts about 100,000 inhabitants. The people on the island are knewn for their friendliness and warmth, and everybody knows each other in one way or another. This gives me a feeling of safety and familiarity and is the environment I was blessed enough to grow up in. I was raised by my mother who si Aruban and my father who is Chinese, along with my younger brother and sister. My parents have been happily married for over 23 years, and my brother, sister and I are lucky to have been raised in such a loving and positive environment. As a family we do much more together than just spending holiday time with one another. We each breakfast and lunch together, and we involve each other as much as we can in many of our daily activities. Because of my parents' different backgrounds we have a mix of two cultures at home, which also meant a larege variation of delicious foods from the Aruban and Chinese kitches. At home we grew up speaking 4 different langauges : English, Papiamento, Spanish and Dutch. What's interesting is that we tend to speakin only English to our fatehr and only Papimento to our mother. Spanish we picked up because of the Spanish television programs and Dutch we learned at school. Only our father speaks Chinese. We have learned a word or tow, but we mostly only hear him speak it to our grandmother, uncles and aunts.
