17 contestans appeared infront of the press in swimwear for the first time. #2 Shikha Sharma (India) was still sick and did not attend the event.
The contestants each had their time in the spotlight. Then they each got to choose who they thought were best in swimsuit. #6 Sonia Lan Lan (China) won the unofficial "Best In Swimsuit" with 5 votes, #11 Ella Evangelista (Philippines) was 2nd with 3 votes and #14 Butter Nahatai Lekbumrung (Thailand) was 3rd with 2 votes.
#6 Sonia was the only one to vote for herself, when asked about this, she said, "Giving myself the vote was just self-support. Winning has given me greater confidence for the finals"
