Ferrari Delta Dash

Guy and I had given our group a long head start, and now we played catch-up, with the next Spirited team departing shortly behind us.  Soon we were heading for rural roads and picking up the pace.  Traffic was light this morning in January, as the clouds started to clear to reveal what might be a beautiful day.
We headed northeast blasting along the designated route. We arrived at the way-point just as our group invaded this otherwise quiet mini-mart/fast food joint.  Imagine the sudden appearance of dozens of Ferraris at a quiet, sleepy little corner, cars zooming in, taking every possible space, in a well choreographed sequence reminiscent of a Formula 1 pit-stop, with a rapid action to top-off both man and beast, and then revving engines signaling a quick departure just as the next group descends upon this spot to over fill the pit lane.
Back on the road, a couple of high-speed passes of otherwise light traffic, and the group has reformed.  We motor along enjoying the highway that is perched atop the levee along the river. The sounds of roaring engines are punctuated by squealing tires at the occasional unexpectedly-tight turns where the road bobs and weaves like a roller coaster. We are making our way along the river so each set of turns is followed by long straights allow a run up through the gears, 2-3-4-5, and for some that have it, even into 6th as they pass others.
Special Note: Consider this the "Before Photo" of Doc's red 360, more later.
(Sinister foreboding music plays in the background.)
