Refueling
welcomes you to their page.
When you need fuel for your plane, who are you going to call?
US!
Refueling Section is responsible for all Jet Fuel (F40) operations at 19 Wing Comox. As well, we supply Gas and Diesel all GSE equipment. Even though most personnel only see one side of the operation, there are several steps before the fuel gets to your airplane.
Comox Wharf:
First a Standing Offer has to be put in place so we can have a contractor deliver the fuel to us at 19 Wing Comox. We average one Ship/Barge of fuel a month with a quantity of 1.6 million litres of fuel that gets delivered to the Comox Wharf.

Then the fuel travels through a 5 1/2 km underground pipeline to the Tank Farm.
Tank Farm:
When the fuel gets to the tank farm it gets sent to the appropriate tank. The tank farm is located beside the Golf Course. We presently have 5 storage tanks that hold a combined total of 4.4 million litres of fuel at any given time.

One tank is always active which provides fuel to the High-Speed Refueling point.
High Speed Refueling point:
High Speed refueling provides fuel to the Refueling tenders as needed. The fuel travels through a 1 1/2 km underground pipeline from the tank farm to the High-Speed Refueling point, where it is stored in two small tanks with a combined storage of 53000 litres.

Refueling Section:
From the refueling section we deliver fuel to all aircraft on the Wing. 19 Wing Comox averages 22 million litres a year in distributions with a section of 1 Mcpl and 11 Cpls.
