Congratulations to 13 year-old Samuel Franklin who came third in the strong Challengers A section in the CCF Christmas International Tournament.  Samuel is currently playing in the Hastings International Congress and has started well with 2/3.  Results can be found on the Hastings Chess Congress website.  

Jia Shen Lee is also playing in the Hastings Masters and two  other Crystal Palace youngsters, Dunstan and Benedict Rodrigues are playing in other sections. 

The Club New Year Tournament on 7th January will be run as a handicap event.   This is because the pre-Christmas Tournament was run as a straight five minute.  It was won by Geoffrey Makumbi.
