| Game 1- Whities vs. The Van B Boys |
|||||||||||
| In a game that had as much as hype as a game seven in the NBA Finals, these two teams battled it out for four long quarters to kick off what looks to be a great season. This was perhaps the most physical game the CPBL has had yet which made it extremely hard to distinguish a hard foul and a flagerant. Almost every player at the end of the game was bleeding, tired and beaten. Only one team would emerge with bragging rights as this would have been the CPBL Finals last year. Thomas once again dominated with 38 points and Scip put in a respectable 21. While Joey from the Van B Boys had 2, Chris leading with 35 and Tristan with a disappointing 5. (He did not play much) The Whities once again emerged with their hands raised in the air and the first win of the season. 59-42. Game 2 Flava and Guice vs. T10 This was also a matchup that the fans have been looking forward to and no one was disappointed. T10 came into this game with the bad boy attitude but left with a frown. I'm not trying to take anything away from T10 but Flava and Guice just seemed to have some sort of chemistry that can only be found in.. a team with great chemistry. From razzle dazzle to flagerant fouls this game had it all. In the end Marc, wearing a Rasheed Wallace jersey ended up with 21, while Scotty the Franchise put up a team high 23 and Rob the firecracker had 2. On the other hand Flave and Guice combined for 50. Chris chipped in with a long 3 points, Riley had 14 and Joe who arrived late ended up with 4. The game high scorer Jay Dub had 29. Flava and Guice is the first expansion team to beat a regular team 50-46 Game 3 The Whities vs. Flava and Guice The first morning game with all the fixings. A team destined to lose their undefeated streak and a team destined to continue towards the final prize. Jason was quoted saying "Man I suck today" while Thomas outscored Flava and Guice as a team and Geoff had uh, a few baskets. The game quickly grew into a blowout and The Whities never looked back . Thomas walked away with 52 points and Geoff pitched in with a.. respectable 5. Jason ended with a disappointing 13 while Joe led his team with 27. 40-57 Game 4 The BK Crew vs. The 86ers Twenty four minutes, four quarters, two expansion teams, and one winner. First lets get to the pregame action- Minutes before game time The 86ers signed free agent Vimel and released Eric Wong on the spot due to a no show. Eric Shackelford was resigned and the game begun. The first quarter was a classic back and fourth battle with the Groff brothers on the court the whole time and they ended it with a three point lead. Eric came in in the second quarter and once again the battle was fierce with Matt Groff showing his superman like moves amazing everyone who was watching. Stephen also had an "and one" three point shot which brought the crowd to their feet. But credit will be given when credit is due and the 86ers played with more then just heart as several backdoor cuts and drives kept them in the game. With just under forty seconds left the 86ers were down by six, and Eric took an awkward three and banked home a 9 point lead. Sealing an opening day victory for The Burger Kings. Amish had a hard fought 17 points while Brett took home the game high 25 points, and the newly acquired Vimel had 11. But the BK Crew held their own and Eric and Stephen ended up with 18 each while the man of the hour Matt Groff had 24. The BK Crew took home the bacon in this game 60-53 |
