My husband, Cliff, is a journeyman machinist, heavy equipment operator and 'fixer of all things broken'. We are the parents of two sons. Matthew graduated from New River Community College in May 2006, and is a mechanic. Our son Michael graduated from Radford University with a BBA in accounting on December 2006.
My parents celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2004. My brother, Dennis, is 5 years younger than me. My multi-talented ham radio afficianado brother-in-law, Craig, is a single parent. My nephew Will is 6th grader this year. He is into video games, soccer, basketball and Cub Scouts, and loves animals.
My youngest brother-in-law Ken resides in a suburb of Kansas City with his wife Aimee, are the world travelers of the family. They have one daughter, Amelia, who is 2 years old.
I have been a Registered Nurse for 28 years. I attended CHRV School of Nursing (now the Jefferson College of Health Sciences) in Roanoke, VA. I currently work in OR/Endoscopy at Twin County Regional Hospital.
I have lots of different interests. I like to read novels and short stories. I enjoy poetry, and have acquired several books of poetry. I also write poetry, and have had one published in a national Nursing magazine. I can knit, crochet, needlepoint, do crewel work, embroidery, and cross-stitch. I am tinkering with teaching myself to stencil.
I like learning to do new things on the computer. I enjoy many different genres of music. I play the piano and sing. I also like watching movies--horror movies based on novels by Stephen King, and old Vincent Price movies are some of my favorites. I love James Bond movies also. I raise houseplants and flowers,
I think I get my green thumb from my dad.
I am a kitchen gadget & small appliance junkie! I like to cook, but also like going to new restaurants, especially different ethnic ones, and will eat out anytime I can.
I collect cookbooks and recipes, and have a Recipe Archive at Recipecircus.com. I also have MASTERCOOK software, and enjoy browsing through its cookbooks, and creating my own Cookbook there.
I also like to shop and love a good bargain. (KOHL'S, BELK, and TARGET, here I come).
