BELGRADE - The Serbian Information Ministry condemned on Thursday the expulsion of the Serbian-language daily Jedinstvo from its facilities in Pristina and its replacement by the newly-formed Albanian-language paper Dardanija.

The Ministry said in a statement that this act by the head of the U.N. Civilian Mission in Kosovo and Metohija (UNMIK), Bernard Kouchner, and OSCE spokesman Douglas Davidson "represents the plunder of Jedinstvo's instruments of labour and of the property of the Republic of Serbia."

The Ministry recalled that the ethnic Albanians, aided by KFOR, had previously taken away computers and other eqpuiment worth more than 70,000 German marks from Jedinstvo's Pristina facilities.

Now they carried away the remaining equipment and moved in the Alabanian-language paper, the Ministry said.

"Kouchner and Davidson have thus once more proven that they are the ones who are giving direct orders for the ethnic cleansing in Kosovo and Metohija and are accomplices of the ethnic Albanian separtists in their crimes against the Serb people," the Ministry said.

"Kouchner and Davidson have prevented the work of all Serbian-language media which objectively and timely informed the public about the developments in Kosovo and Metohija," the Ministry said adding that this is proof more about Kouchner's and Davidson's role in the ethnic cleansing in Kosovo and Metohija.

The Ministry warned that the siezing of Jedinstvo's facilities is the direct plundering of state property because the Republic of Serbia is the founder of the Panorama Publishing Company which prints Jedinstvo.

The Information Ministry, as a state administration organ in charge of the information sphere, invested special funds for the work and development of this sole paper in the Serbian language in Serbia's southern province, the statement said.

Such conduct by Kouchner and Davidson proves a lack of the respect of the right of property and that their overall policy, and the policy of their bosses in Washington, has a violent and plundering character and is based solely on the right of the stronger, the statement said.
