BELGRADE - The NATO aggression on Yugoslavia was practically unrelated to Kosovo and Metohija, Yugoslav Information Minister Goran Matic said in an interview to Belgrade Radio on Friday.

Serbia's southern province was used as an excuse for an attempt to break up Yugoslavia, Matic set out adding that the U.S. administration and NATO are currently not interested in taking Kosovo and Metohija, but in siezing Belgrade where they want to establish a control centre, just like Hitler did in 1941. It is impossible to attack the Russian Federation without occupying Belgrade. Hitler too had to attack Belgrade in April 1941 to prepare an attack on the Soviet Union two months later and this is the same scenario, Matic stated.

Our aim is to defend and develop ourselves, he said. However, such principles render us heretics in the new world order and for the U.S. administration and this is why they are restoring to all means in the struggle against us, Matic stated. According to him, it is no longer a matter of their global geopolitical and economic interests, but simply our resistence and our freedom loving principles which threaten their plan for total control and monitoring.
