SKOPJE - Some 3,000 Romanies from Kosovo and Metohija, who sought sanctuary in Macedonia fleeing from ethnic Albanain terror and are now located in the refugee camp Stenkovac near Skopje, have been on a hunger strike since Friday.
They said they had been forced to this step to draw the attention of the world public to their problems, primarily the U.N. High Commessariat for Refugees (UNHCR) who has forgotten them completely.
The Kosovo Romanies said that they had left Serbia's southern province immediately after the arrival of KFOR because the "peacekeepers" failed to show any inclination to protect them, just like the other non-Albanians, from ethnic Albanian terror.
Since their arrival in Stenkovac, everyone has forgotten the Kosovo Romanies, the Macedonian police gives them no protection from the ethnic Albanian terrorists who often come to the camp to threaten them with extermination for their alleged support to the Serbs.
