SKOPJE - The Macedonian authorities have allowed ethnic Albanian refugees from Kosovo and Metohija to extend their stay in Macedonia until March 2000 while, at the same time, it is refusing to provide refuge to Romanies who have fled Serbia's southern province before the KLA terrorists.
About 600 Romanies from Kosovo and Metohija, of whom more than 200 are children, have been trying to enter Macedonia at the Blace-Djeneral Jankovic border crossing, but the authorities in Skopje have refused them sanctuary and international humanitarian organizations have failed to send them sufficient quantities of food and to supply adequate health care.
KFOR has also refused to help, even allowing ethnic Albanian terrorists to beat and harrass them during their stay in a camp near Pristina.
