Title:  Danish KFOR troops stop bus escorts

Original location: http://www.borba.co.yu/daily.html

The Zubin Potok-based Danish contingent of the international peace force KFOR in Serbia's southern Kosovo and Metohija province on Sunday morning decided to withhold protection to passengers travelling by bus on the 20km-route Zubin Potok-Kosovska Mitrovica, the local authorities in Zubin Potok confirmed.

This zone is under the command of the French contingent. Buses on the mentioned route pass a number of ethnic Albanian villages in the municipality of Kosovska Mitrovica, where they were regularly stoned, in spite of the presence of Dannish troops on the buses and armoured vehicle escorts.

Without any explanation, the Danish troops have ceased to provide the protection established on Aug 15. Passengers along this route now have to make a 30km detour along bad roads in order to pass through Serb-populated areas and the towns Kozarevo and Zvecan.
