BELGRADE -- The president of the Temporary Executive Council of Kosovo and Metohija, Zoran Andjekovic, said on Sunday that the realization of the idea on the engagement of some KLA members in civilian services in Serbia's southern province, would represent a direct violation of the U.N. Security Council Resolution 1244 and the Military Techinical Agreement.
Speaking on the first program of Belgrade Radio, Andjelkovic set out that this would not contribute to peace and security, nor to a multiethnic life in this province.
"Instead of guarranting the safety of all citizens and enabling the creation of a multiethnic and multi-religious Kosovo and Metohija, the activities so far of the U.N. Civilian Mission (UNMIK) have resulted in the expulsion of 240,000 people from the province, without a single institution operating on the multiethnic and multireligious principle," Andjelkovic stated.
He underscored that almost all civilian institutions in Kosovo and Metohija have been siezed, in an organized manner, by groups of ethnic Albanians.
