PRISTINA -- An ethnic Albanian party leader in U.N.-protected Kosovo-Metohija strongly condemned on Friday the atrocities committed by ethnic Albanian terrorists against Srebs and other non-Albanians in the Gnjilane area.

The Ugljare mass grave with the mutilated bodies of 15 Serbs, more mass graves in Gnjilane's Cenar Cesma settlement with a number of Serb bodies, and the continued shelling of Serb villages in which civilians are hurt and killed are terrible evidence of crimes being committed by ethnic Albanian separatists and terrorists, according to Faik Jashari, who heads the Kosovo Democratic Initiative (KDI).

The situation in this province of the Yugoslav republic of Serbia has been worsening steadily since the deployment of the international KFor force and the U.N. civilian mission (UNMIK), said Jashari, member of Kosovo-Metohija's Provisional Executive Council.

This means that they either cannot or will not provide peace and security, the ethnic Albanian KDI said in a statement.

Therefore, it added, the Yugoslav army, police and border guards should be returned to Kosovo-Metohija immediately, to establish law and order and provide security of person and property for all.
