GNJILANE -- Ethnic Albanian terrorists fiercely attacked five Serb villages around Gnjilane with heavy weaponry on Wednesday morning and Tuesday night, killing two persons and wounding 11 others, including four seriously, the Committee of the Church and People of this town in Serbia's Kosovo and Metohija province said.
Shells killed villagers in Budriga and Donja Budriga, while serious wounds were inflicted to two persons each in Donja Budriga and Partes. Seven persons received light injuries in these villages, including a four-year-old child, the committee said.
All the wounded were in their yards at the time of the attacks which confirm that the Kosovo international forces KFOR tolerate possession of heavy arms by the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), even though the deadline for their surrender has long since passed.
In Ranilug village, ethnic Albanian terrorists early this morning shelled the village church and elementary school, but there were no casualties as the attack was launched about 30 minutes before classes were to begin.
One house has been completely destroyed in Ranilug, and several others have been damaged in the shelling. Reports about these terrorist attacks are not complete yet, the committee said.
In protest against these latest terrorist attacks, people of Partes and other villages last night blocked the road to Gnjilane, but KFOR tanks removed the barricades.
The Gnjilane committee said ethnic Albanian terrorists as of last night launched open war against the Serb enclaves in order to liquidate the local population or definitely banish them from Kosovo and Metohija.
The committee sent an open letter along these lines to the KFOR command, demanding more energetic actions and protection of the local Serbs.
