Ethnic Albanian terrorists and extremists have expelled 90,000 Romanies of the 150,000 that lived in Serbia's southern province before the deployment of the UN peacekeeping force KFOR, a society for the protection of ethnic groups that are in jeopardy based in Goettingen, Germany, said Tuesday.
In exerting pressure on the Romanies, Kosovo and Metohija's ethnic Albanians do not hesitate to commit murder or rape, with paramilitary units of the ethnic Albanian terrorist organisation calling itself Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) that are pursuing a campaign of ethnic cleansing, being responsible for most of the crimes, the society's president Tilman Zuelich said in a report. The report contains a large number of accounts by eyewitnesses, personnel of international organisations, reporters and officials of human rights organisations.
Zuelich said that most of the ethnic Albanians backed or tolerated the expulsion of non-Albanians, while local ethnic Albanian political parties, organisations and intellectuals had resigned themselves to the ethnic cleansing policy.
He strongly criticised KFOR for its half-hearted and insufficient protection of the province's non-Albanian population.
KFOR has neither protected Romany villages nor has tried to stop the expulsion, he said.
