PRISTINA -- Although KFOR and the United Nations have announced in press statements that 20 Serbs would also be trained at the Police Academy in Vucitrn, this has not happenned.
Tanjug learned from reliable sources that, of the 20 enrolled Serbs, only nine (four women and five men) turned up on the first day of lectures.
The zealous U.N. police immediately brought in for interrogation two of the Serbs, only on the basis of an anonymous report by ethnic Albanian collegues. This incident, coupled with the conduct of the teachers and the ethnic Albanian collegues, induced the other Serb students to pull out of the Academy.
The KFOR information service has so far failed to give any official explanation for this. Tanjug learned that lectures are being conducted normally for the ethnic Albanians.
