BELGRADE -- Serbian Justice Minister Dragoljub Jankovic has said that he has been informed by a group of German lawyers that they are ready to represent in German courts Yugoslavs who sustained damage during NATO's bombing, if their property has been acquired through the work in Germany or in any other way financed by funds from this country.
Speaking for Radio Belgrade on Saturday, Jankovic said that there was a large number of people in Yugoslavia who used to work abroad and with Yugoslav companies and offices in Germany.
"I am confident that we shall receive compensation for the damage. The question is when and whether in the form of reparations, because it is highly unlikely that the most militant NATO member states will agree to compensate the damage to a small country since this would mean that they admit that they have done something that is illegal," he said.
He said that he nevertheless believed that the damage will be compensated for through various reparations, joint investment and investment in third countries.
