Serbian Prime Minister Mirko Marjanovic met in Moscow on Thursday with the president of the Russian Gazprom corporation, Remo Vyahiryev, to discuss the realization of the gas barter arrangement.
Vyahiryev fully supported the Serbian government's proposals on the delivery of gas to Yugoslavia, to be approved by the Russian Federation government.
Vyahiryev said that the first gas deliveries to Yugoslavia should take place in mid-September adding that Gazprom is ready to participate in the resolution of the problem of transporting the gas through Hungary.
According to him, the Russian partner will reprogram the old loan and thus help the Yugoslav people and the manufacture of medications and food.
Marjanovic will on Friday discuss the realization of the agreements signed today and other economic and political issues with First Vice Prime Minister Nikolay Aksyonenko.
Marjanovic also met today with the management of the Zarubzhnyeft oil company in the Yugoslav embassy in Moscow.
This company was appointed by the Russian government as the coordinator of the delivery of oil derivatives to Yugoslavia and as Russian representative participating in the reconstruction of the facilities of the oil processing industry of Serbia destroyed in the NATO aggression on Yugoslavia.
