PRISTINA -- The situation in Kosovo and Metohija continues to be serious and the first step of the international forces should be to close the Yugoslav border with Albania which is crossed every day by gangs which inflict huge damage both to the Serb and to all the other populations, the president of the Democratic Reform Party of Ethnic Albanians, Sokolj Chusa, said on Tuesday.
Chusa added that since the Serbs are currently the most threatened, they are leaving the province in the greatest numbers.
Large numbers of ethnic Albanians are also leaving Kosovo and Metohija in the face of terror against the innocent population carried out by KLA or gangs from abroad, Chusa said.
He underscored that in the past month 99 percent of the Serb population had left Prizren and its vicinity. Torched have been almost all Serb houses and lawlessness still rules there. The remaining Serbs live in fear of the daily retributions, killings and harrassment.
The program of the Democratic Reform Party of Ethnic Albanians calls for the joint life of Serbs and ethnic Albanians, Chusa said condeming all forms of terrorism which threatens lives and harms all the inhabitants of Kosovo and Metohija.
