Skopje, 18th August (Tanjug) - Macedonian Albanians drove out from Raduse village, near Skopje, five Gypsy families who has been living there for decades, threatening to kill them if they return, since they are "on the Serbian side".
Animosity of Albanians toward members of the Gypsy national minority started during the NATO aggression on Yugoslavia, when Gypsy Amdi Bajram, national representative in the Macedonian Parliament, publicly condemned bombing and criminal acts of the Western Alliance over Serbs.
Albanians first started to maltreat children of Gypsies, threatening with slaughtering if they continue to play in the street. When Gypsies tried to protect their children, Albanians attacked them as well, claiming that they fight against Albanian compatriots in Kosovo and Metohija.
Driven out Gypsies have been from yesterday in front of the building of Suto Orizari Municipality, to which Radusa belongs, where they were promised the police protection. Gypsies do not believe in promises of the municipal authorities that, as they say, have never undertaken anything to tame the aggressive Albanians. Therefore, as they say, they do not dare to go back to the village.
