BELGRADE, August 12 (Itar-Tass) - NATO countries are completing the realisation of the project code-named "information circle around Serbia", Serbian state television said.
The television quoted U.S. special envoy to the Balkans Robert Gelbard as saying on Thursday that the goal of the project is to put transmitters on the Yugoslav territory in order to block transmissions of state electronic mass media.
The Serbian television believes that this project gives another example of the U.S. state terrorism against Yugoslavia and its purpose is to create a marionette government in Serbia, which will include representatives of NATO countries.
The television called on Serbian bodies of power to take necessary measures and protest against NATO's information aggression.
The television's leadership sent a letter to the headquarters of the International Union of Journalists in Brussels.
At the same time, the U.S. Administration denied the Yugoslav leadership's allegations that America intends to jam Serbian radio broadcasts.
On Wednesday, the Yugoslav state television said that the U.S. and other NATO countries are preparing to jam Serbian radio and television broadcasts.
State Department spokesman James Rubin confirmed that the U.S. intends to put re-translators, adding that the U.S. will do everything possible not to jam Serbian radio broadcasts.
He also said that in future the United States is expected to expand broadcasts.
