My living room.....it has the components to be lovely....but, they have been overlooked so long.... My living room has powder blue walls, teal blue carpet, taupe brown couch, which on closer inspection is pin stripes of dark taupe, lite taupe and slate blue. The main picture set over the sofa has pics of an ocean area with white houses with carnation pink roofs -and another picture from one of our vacations. It is the reason I bought the grouping of pictures -because they reminded me of this vacation. The vacation picture shows the place we stayed in Mexico that is also a white building with a pink tile roof. On the shelf beside it I have a shell, with a necklace made of small shells that is draped beside it. I have a woven mexican blanket which is mostly white, but has stripes of soft
colors woven in, picking up the blue and accent of pink in my pictures and different places in the room. Yesterday while at the store, I spotted the most beautiful bunch of roses - a lush pink that would go well in my living room. So today I am trying to make my living room
beautiful, so that my roses will enjoy their visit with me!
I did it! My living room is 'singing' soft notes of welcome to my lush
pink roses and the roses are throwing open their petals in a blaze of
glory! Ha, ha! I cannot tell you how successful I feel! My living room is basically
clean, my roses are so happy to be the center of this calm, inviting room!
Sure, there are some rough edges that would freak a cleanie....but, nothing
that I am going to worry about - perfection is the stumbling block that hinders people like me - we wait till we have time to do it perfectly, and never have it. So, I am enjoying this imperfect, but warm, inviting room, and thankful that I was able to find a 'middle ground' of allowing myself to not wait till I had time to be perfect. (notice 2 dog toys and dog blankets still showing in pictures!)
