This coyote was shot in Black River Falls by Jeff's with his 22-250 pictured. It was a running shot over 300 yards which required several shots to anchor this varmint. This one was shot during the 1999 bow deer season.

After scouting for a few days I found a new spot to try. I put a portable stand about 15 feet up a nice straight tree on a wooded side hill. Opening morning came around and I rode my 4 wheeler within about 50 yards of my new stand. It started out pretty quiet around me until around 7:00 when a coyote came trotting by at about 50 yards, I contemplated shooting it several times, but finally decided it was best to let it pass, I didn't want to scare any bucks away, after all that's what I was after. About 30 minutes later the same coyote was coming back my way. At this point I had it out for him, he stopped just for a second, and I took my shot. Unfortunately I had to make a second shot with my model 700 Remington 30-06 to put him down for good. This was a male under one year old weighing in at approximately 35 pounds. This coyote was shot during the 1999 deer gun season in Southwestern Wisconsin.

This coyote was also shot in Black River Falls with a Savage 22-250 by Jeff during an unsuccessful bow hunt at approximately 330 paced yards during 1997. One shot and he was done for the count.

This was another one shot during deer season, this time in 1996, on the second day of opening season. It was about a 70 yard shot, he was running, 1 shot and he never even twitched once again. After hanging it overnight he became extremely frozen, hence the picture. this was a large male near 45 pounds.
