~GEORGIA (The Cat)~
 Becky ([email protected])

How precious she was as he brought her to me
The sweet little black kitten so tiny was she
Could not understand why he brought her here
Heebie Jebbies he gets when a cat comes near

It didn't take long for her to choose her space
In the middle of his lap she slumbers in grace
Sitting in the recliner both dead to the world
As he snores, she purrs, with claws unfurled

I need to take a picture of this one day soon
Hopefully can do it by the middle of June
No one will ever believe me if I tell them so
Need a picture in my hand for proof to show

When she came home she was to become mine
Oh well I promise I'll not to go into a decline
She is sweet though and we all like her a lot
And she pays us no mind more often than not

Worried how she would get along with Sunnie
Needn't have though cause she's her honey
They now play and sleep, as sisters tend to do
Playing, sleeping, then fighting each other too

Chasing from one end of the house to the other
Me yelling and sounding just like their mother
To cut out running, it is like it was never said
As Georgia runs up my back and onto my head

Looking down at the dog who is grinning drool
And me looking like some kind of stupid fool
Up on my head, there sits the little black cat
Perched up there pretending to be a fur hat

Open the door, off she decides to go exploring
Her wondering ways actually, I find deploring
She got her comeuppance finally one morning
She slipped out the door ignoring my warning

As I sat out on the back deck paying the bills
I heard this God awful sound, gave me chills
The yowling scream of a cat came to my ears
Sunnie came scrambling and I was in tears

Running to the other deck I called for the cat
Her ears back, tail flying like a streaking bat
Out of hell she dashed, climbed up my pants leg
Her black eyes looked at me as if trying to beg

Meanwhile our Sunnie had taken off like lightning
She chased that other feline truly it was frightening
I heard another screech out there in the woods
Sounded like she got that darn cat, oh! but good

She came back smiling her tongue hanging out
She had defended her baby sister without a doubt
Needless to say Georgia wanted back in the house
I heard not a squeak she was quiet like a mouse

One more thing about Georgia I really do like
Is sitting outside while she gets ready to strike
At birds on the feeders all throughout the yard
She hasn't caught any though, it's really hard

Not to laugh at her antics, see her black tail sway
She's not learned how to do it right to this day
Ready to attack her haunches start to wiggle
Then the birds fly away as we all start to giggle

She is delightful this little black cat of mine
Or I thought she was given but I won't whine
She keeps me laughing her antics quite funny
I'd take nothing for her, not love not money
